I am organizing an event scheduled for November 30th and it is looking really amazing! I have a lot of great participants from Etsy!

For those that don't know, I am holding a shopping party fundraiser to benefit our local food bank, Sun Youth. Sun Youth provides food/toy baskets for needy families during the holidays. You can read more about Sun Youth here: http://sunyouthorg.com/

I am giving out goodie bags to the first 100 guests, but so far I only have 10 people donating goodies for the bags and not all of them are donating 100 pieces! I need help! Please! Whatever amount of items you can donate is fine, I just don't want to give out a bag with 3 or 4 items...

This is the first time that I am organizing this event and would love for it to be a success! I'd like to hold about 2 a year for different charities.

What do you use as your thread? It looks like embroidery thread. I tried out coptic stitch binding and I don't know if I'm just not pulling tight enough or the thread is stretching, but it ends up being looser than I'd like.

I forgot to answer this question - I used embroidery floss...I bought a pack of 105 skeins at Walmart and they work perfectly.

Wow! Thanks to all who posted! So sorry I took sooo long to answer! I've been 'birthday party mode' - planning my son's 1st birthday!

The paper I use is scrapbook paper, I buy mine at a Canadian store called "Omer de Serre", but I'm sure you can find them at any other scrapbooking store!

Consignment means that I send her my items, and if she sells them, then she'll give me a cut?

wow! I have only been on Etsy for a few days, and just today I received a message from someone who has a boutique in a nearby city that focuses on Canadian hand-crafted items. She is interested if buying some of my notebooks & organizer boxes for her store! She wants to know my 'conditions of sale'....but of course since I have never done this before, I have no idea what to tell her!! I'd love to be in her store, this is a great beginning for me since I just started making these notebooks this winter...

Any advice on what I should tell her??

I opened up my very first Etsy store this week! Yay! I'm selling coptic bound notebooks and mini-organizer boxes. I researched my competition on Etsy and I think I'm reasonably priced...or maybe not? There are quite a few notebooks that are selling for over $20 and I have mine at $13....anyway, I'd appreciate it if any of you can take a quick look and let me know what you think about my prices and my actual merchandise!
I'll be putting more items soon, as I make them...I recently sold them at a craft fair and did pretty well...almost everyone that past by my table showed interest.
Also, do you think I should focus on the smaller size notebooks (4.5"x5.75") or the larger ones (5.5" x 8.5")...

Well I made it last night, touched up all the white spots with fine tip markers and then patched up the rips with clear glue...looks pretty good. You can't noticed unless you're looking for it.

I really need some advice! I sold at a craft fair this week and a customer wanted a special order...(I make notebooks). The paper that she chose for the cover doesn't fold well and it keeps ripping at the folds! I don't know what I can do to fix this! I really don't want to contact the customer to tell her that I can't make it for her....I could camouflage the rips with a black marker but I would feel bad if she notices....

Any ideas?
