Oooh! I LOVE Madeline Kahn!

Very lovely! Smiley
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Enlightened iPod Pouch on: November 14, 2008 11:05:06 PM

I crocheted this little pouch and thought it needed a little something extra--just a simple little embroidery on some scrap fabric.

Namaste.
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: ziggy stardust costume WIP on: October 04, 2008 12:53:28 PM
I LOVE this.

And I also agree that a collar would be nice. Wink

Very cute. Love the title, too. Smiley
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pinafore from Wool Dress on: September 11, 2008 10:23:26 PM
I found this wool dress in the thrift store and decided that it would make a lovely pinafore. It only took a little work, but I think it came out nicely. Smiley

And a before shot:

What a beautiful contrast of colors. It's very nice.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Rasta Hat, or Why I Almost Committed Hat-Icide on: September 02, 2008 12:02:13 PM
Oh I know how you fell I've come very close to giving up all together and taking up knitting....(although I doubt that it would be any less frusturating) but its a great hat. The nice thing about projects you don't like is you can always rip 'em out and make it into something else......

Just doing my part to recycle. Smiley

Thanks for the comment.
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rasta Hat, or Why I Almost Committed Hat-Icide on: September 01, 2008 06:52:12 PM
As I spied Teresa's free pattern for a Rasta Hat on her blog The Art of Crochet (at: http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2008/03/blog-post_31.html), I felt tingly with delight. Oh boy! A rasta hat of my very own? Never mind the interesting popcorn stitches (sorry Teresa), I knew that I wanted to have that hat!

While Teresa's videos were extremely handy, I couldn't help but feeling something was amiss as I crocheted away. When I finished, of course, I proudly went to the mirror to try it on...only to find out I looked like a cross between a mushroom and a contestant on Top Chef. Of course, this was less of a pattern error and more of a user error. Though, I have to admit, even Teresa's finished project does look a little what I had done.

However, I was still determined to be one of the cool kids on the block-sans the dreadlocks. So, after spending roughly six hours on the aforementioned project, I completed this one in about three or so. It's basically an increasing circle, a couple of rounds of dc in the same sts, and then a couple of decreasing stitches every 6 sts. And, of course, whatever band you like.

Modeled by my boyfriend's marvelous living room lamp.

Another with the lamp off.

And, just for kicks, the serious disaster I first ended up with:

Considering that I'm not one of the Mario Brothers, I'm much happier with the second one. Smiley

Ooooh. Me too. Glad to be out of the dorms, I must say.

I'm not quite sure that it's my taste, but I think the work that you put into it is amazing. Truly inspiring!
