Something to do with Thanksgiving would be a good idea...what about...Being thankful for what you have? Take pictures of the homeless people on the streets. Take photos of them at a local soup kitchen recieving warm meals and being thankful for that despite the fact that they own nothing. It would be a very powerful project. Just a thought. Good luck with whatever you decide on!

Wow! Thanks everyone SO MUCH for the ideas! I'm still not sure what exactly I'll do, but I like the idea of moving my bed under my window and painting that wall black. Thanks everyone for the tips and links   Grin

I always have so many ideas on how to update my room, but I only ever get as far as painting it until I get stuck on what to do next. Everything just ends up getting thrown together and I end up regretting painting. Well, this (hopefully...) is the last time I'm going to paint my room. I was thinking either black or white walls (I'm trying to convince my parents of black with a white accent wall. Is black a large commitment?) with turquoise accents. I love black and white damask fabric and I think it would look great as blankets along with black  bed sheets and black and turquoise pillows for my bed. Maybe turquoise curtains, and a black and white damask chair aswell. I'm not sure how to do this though. Like I've already said, I get as far a painting. I'm not sure what to do afterwards. Where do I find damask blankets and pillows and a chair? I'm not a sewer unfortunately...Anyone want to help a very amateur decorator? Embarrassed

Here's my room now: Boring and not decorated whatsoever...

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cute plaid/ Little Mermaid Coat!! on: July 07, 2008 04:01:58 PM
Wow! I've had such a hard time looking for a coat like that! All winter I've been looking and haven't been successful. Yours is just fantastic! I love the lining especially!

How hard would it be for a complete beginner to make? All I've done on the sewing machine were make a pair of flannel boxer shorts, and make normal jeans into skinny jeans and other random things that probably don't even count as sewing. Clearly I'm not an expert, think I should attempt?  Huh

Well...I've never taken any classes...and no one has ever taught me how to sew...so I dunno. If you know how to read a pattern then you should be fine. It really wasn't that difficult though.

Okay...I'll try it. What the heck! Thanks for the inspiration!
