11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / EAT! on: May 25, 2011 01:32:43 PM
Hope I'm putting this in the right spot...?

So..I love to watch the show Cougar Town with Courtney Cox..super funny! "Pennnny caaaaannn!" Anyhoots, in Jules's kitchen, in the background is the word EAT on her wall, done in what looks like those big cardboard letters...I wanted that in my kitchen, it was super easy and I thought I would share the process with mah Craftster friends...

You start with this....EAT in those cardboard letters. I got them at Joann's. Fun paper, modpodge, paint brush for glue, ruler, sharp exacto knife..(needs to be sharp, please be careful!) and a cutting board.  Oh! and scissors..

Really easy to cut out...lay it out on the paper, trace around, cut..I also covered the sides but you could paint that and leave it.

Glue it on with Modpodge..I used Matt-podge. I also sealed the whole thing when I had all the paper on...looks better.

And wahla!  There you have it!  I like it...fun easy project!

12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mad Hatter poppet on: June 18, 2010 12:41:14 PM
So..I wasn't going to post this but I'm really proud of it and worked really hard on it so I thought...what the heck!  It was for a swap with the wonderful puamelia in the mini poppet swap. She really liked  Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter..so this is MY interpretation of him.I'm just insanely proud of it!

I wish I took better pictures but there you have it.  Excuse Chelsea in the window (my dog)  She's wondering what the heck I'm doing.

thanks for taking a gander!

14  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Homemade Pasta...yummy! on: January 06, 2010 08:13:31 AM
So...for the new year, one of my resolutions is to get better at cooking, but to know the foods I'm putting in my body...staying away from colorings, preservatives and eat more whole foods. And no more meat. Wink (well..try anyway)
I made pasta last night...super easy and worth the time..Here's the meal finished....
the pasta is mixed with garlic, carrots, broccoli, olive oil and butter that I cooked up first.....

I started with four eggs, two cups flour, pinch of salt, and a bit of olive oil....now.......kneed...kneed...kneed..when you think you've kneeded enough..kneed a little more...go for at least 10 minutes, you need it really firm then let it rest a bit

roll it out really thin... and cut with a pizza cutter into thin strips

boil and salt your water and cook your pasta only 2 to 3 minutes..when it floats to the top it's done then.....
EAT!

Next time I'll get a pasta machine and make the pasta real pretty like...because after tasting homemade pasta? I'll never buy packaged again.
15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Christmas in July ornament swap? on: July 21, 2009 05:48:39 PM
It's just July but I'm thinking about making some Christmas ornaments! Cheesy Would anyone be interesting in doing a small swap with just one small Christmas ornament?  I've never organized a swap before and not sure I'm confident in doing so...would anyone be interested in organizing if there's any interest?  Eh.. Maybe it's just a silly thought. Grin Cheesy Wink
16  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Yikes! what's happening? on: April 17, 2009 01:43:21 PM
I've been quilting a quilt top I started many many moons ago and wanted to finish....I'm really inexperienced in free motion quilting..but I have done it a little...enough to NOT check the back first off to see how it looked...so...next time I won't use a dark background...but here is my trouble this is moving faster...then I noticed what was going on and this is real slow   is it the tension?  I thought with free motion..the tension shouldn't be a factor..and my feed dogs are down...does anyone know what my beast is doing?   Unfortunately I've done almost the whole thing...disappointing cause the whole front is hand appliqued. Embarrassed  BUT...the front looks good(for a beginner , at least to me Wink)...the back? yikes...Help?

20  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas wreath on: December 14, 2008 12:35:13 PM
I made this wreath a few days ago...to replace the one we received 10 years ago for a wedding gift...by the way these are great wedding gifts for anyone getting married in the winter months.  I really like it..it's the second one I made, the first was a fall one that I made for a dear friend.  I would love to know what everyone thinks?  Sometimes I like something but it may be silly to someone else...it's on my front door.  my door is a faded red color and the wreath is a deep red..for some reason the colors aren't showing up like in real time.
