I was completely inspired but the new Stuffed mag this spring and decided to make myself a little up-cycled jean doll. I have a ton of old jeans that were once my husbands and I just can't give them to the second hand until I at least try to renew reuse recycle. This was one of the projects with a pair of his jeans. I drew up the pattern on freezer paper and just went for it. One of the stuffies in the Stuffed magazine was my inspiration. She kinda just morphed as I changed her multiple times in the process. I didn't buy anything but used what I had. I like her. I think she's cute.

Looks a little tellatubbyish from my memory banks when my son was little and makes me shiver just a bit, but I like her!

Amazing! I'm always dumbfounded by the way you ladies can transform a wee little matchbox. Love it!

I love these. I know someone else asked about the sharpie pens, and I'm curious as well. I was wondering what type of sharpies you could use on ceramics?  I would love to try something like this but are you able to wash it?
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Apple hand pies and bites on: February 24, 2014 09:16:44 AM
oh yum! I love hand pies. Thanks for sharing. I love getting creative and using up stuff instead of tossing it. I have some dough in the freezer and some pears. Looks like I'll have some hand pies in my hot little hands soon.  Grin

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: Suggestions for sprucing up a very boring front yard? on: January 22, 2014 09:35:18 AM
I agree with what someone else said about putting some lovely shutters on the front. If it were my home, I would maybe focus on the patio you have there and fill it up with potted plants and such. Make it a little oasis. You can even do some inexpensive water features you can make yourself. Maybe line the walk way with potted plants but it looks to be dry there so you would be watering a ton and that makes the water bill go up. Good luck with this marvelous blank canvas to work with! Have fun!!!
