well, after a catastrophically bad haircut back in november, my hair is FINALLY long enough for me to feel good showing it again!

Yes, flavor oil for candy making is the way to go. You can get sooooo many cool flavors online. I got mine from ebay... I'm currently experimenting with creating my own lipgloss line. Wish me luck! Wink

I'm glad it worked for you but it did not work for me........

One possible reason could be the type you used. Some brands of candy flavoring are flavor oils and do not contain alcohol (I think Wilton or Atecco, maybe?). They are suitable for this type of thing. Some brands at Whole Foods also do not contain alcohol, they are good too.

Extracts and flavorings you buy at the grocery store contain alcohol. That is the nature of extracts (vanilla extract was initially brandy and vanilla, and some brands still are. true story.), and sadly alcohol and ANY oil are NOT friends.

Good Luck!!!!!!!

During

and

After of course these are while my hair was still wet

And I took these this morning at least it's dry.

The last 2 pics, I decided that the sides and bangs were too long, so I cut them Smiley

Oooooo I found one from over the summer.

this one was taken over the summer
16  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Donuts anyone? on: March 15, 2009 05:59:58 PM
I have an electric donut maker that makes four (or is it 6? - I forget) at a time.  They are like little cakes and they are fun to decorate and serve on a big platter.  My kids liked to help make them when they were little.  Now I'm inspired to get the maker out again and make myself some good non-fried donuts.

Sorry it took me so long to get back....kids and the weekend don't make for good posting time lol.  I'm glad I could inspire someone to make these....I actually made these at the beginning of the week...I must have messed something up cause they didn't turn out so well....oh well, there's always next time...

A couple years ago I did this but I also added one of the tin pottles of peppermint extract. Not the larger bottles like vanilla but the little tiny ones used for candy making. It gave everything a minty fresh flavor and reminded me of the kind they say at Bath & Body works for freshening your breath.

I'm glad it worked for you but it did not work for me........
