1  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: T-shirt dyeing to fix discoloring? on: June 23, 2005 05:50:20 PM
It's already screen printed so I don't want to add anymore. It is 100 percent cotton.  I was thinking about taking all the color out of it and redying it. I'm going to look up that Dye you suggested. Thanks!

Yeah it's liksted as a silver color. It' just a solid light gray. The bleach spots are peachy. And then there's the silk screening which I don't think the dye would hurt? I'm willing to dye it another color, doesn't have to be silver but I really don't want peach haha.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: I got a job. on: June 18, 2005 07:20:11 AM
I don't think we did any  of the "must win" stuff unless it's new. But we did have to look at the daily planner and look for a "secret word" just to be tested throughout the day by managers to make sure we looked at the planner. And they came up with this awful idea "never take a pass" and they're like "Do anything you can to help a customer! Never take a pass!" and then we had to write down instances where we didn't take a pass and put it in a raffle box for the possibility of a Joanns five dollar giftcertificate. It hated that. I changed the motto to "Always take a pass" because I had putin my two weeks notice.

Yeah sorry if this is negative, I just hope that your store is better than ours!

Oh dear, I hope you have better luck there than I did. I only wored there for eight months before I had to quit. My managers were idiots. Three out of four of them just got fired if that's any indication. I hope your branch is better!

i work for joanns too! its the company, trust me. i thought i wouldn't make it a month but i've been there almost a year. the managment are all indeed idiots. i think i'm growing immune to them, thank goodness.

curious what stores you guys all work at?

and good look with the new job!

Oooh gross. Didn't it feel like it sucked your soul out? Hahahah gosh I hate it there. What sections did you work in? I was a craft girl and the stuck me with crafts and floral most of the time. I had to stock, help, recover and cashier all at the same time in three departments. It sucked.

I was at a Joann ETC in Novi Michigan. It's number was 1933.

I dont' know about all of you but I have horrible luck with t-shirts. I looove t-shirts but they always end up getting ruined! From my toothpaste to chlorine soaked kids who want hugs to the mysterious basement floor my t-shirts always end up getting bleached and ruined. It's usually just a tiny spot that's bleached in the most noticeable of places.

I just got a shirt from Threadless (the Russel shirt) and I LOVE IT. But unfortunately my niece got out of the pool and hugged me and it got wrecked. Sad! I only had it two days!  Sad So Threadless said I could return it but they don't have any more girl Russell shirts. I'm wrecked! So I was thinking maybe if you lovely ladies said I could somehow fix this shirt by perhaps taking out all of the color with the Ritz stuff and redying it I would. And maybe I could fix my other shirts!

What do you guys think? I only want to do this if it's going to work. Otherwise I'm out ten bucks and one of my favorite shirts. Any other suggestions?

Thank you my dears!

Hey, I'm new. My name is Ashley and I've lurked on here for awhile and decided to post my lastest project that I'm pretty proud of. My friend Jenna and I love Ed Harcourt, a British singer so I decided to make us matching shirts. Mine's green and hers is blue though the light make them look otherwise. But here they are:

I'm working on a lot more crafts so I'm sure you'll see me around  Smiley
