1  Pony Plush [pertaining pattern & pics] in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by kyraji on: May 12, 2010 04:33:50 PM
Out of all of my crochet projects so far, this is by far my favorite thing to make. Ponies!
Well, they started out as supposed-to-be-horses, but they look more like ponies, I think. xD

I made a pattern to go along with it. I hope it makes sense. I really couldn't figure out how to describe the ears.

Without further ado, the pattern!

Crochet Pony Plush
Pattern (c) Heather Diehl

Hook size used: H
Yarn: Medium/Worsted weight

Pattern takes two colors, a third if you don't want the hooves to match the mane and tail.

Sew beads on as eyes, use safety eyes [when making the head!] or embroider eyes on when finished with the rest of the animal.

Head:
Rnd 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk. Continue in a spiral, do not join rows.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3-15: sc in each sc around. (12 sc per rnd)
Tie off, leave tail for sewing to body. Stuff. Bend to create head and neck; sew into position.

Ears: Make 2.
ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hk. Turn.
ch 2. sc in each ch on previous row. Turn.
ch 2. sc in each ch on previous row. Done. You should end up with a small triangle. Tie off, leave tail for sewing to head.
Sew to top of head.

Body:
Rnd 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk. Continue in a spiral, do not join rows.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: Alternate 1 sc and 2 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4-15: sc in each sc around. (18 sc per rnd)
Rnd 16: Alternate 1 dec and 1 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Stuff body.
Rnd 17: Dec each sc around. (6 sc)
Rnd 18: Gather 6 sc from previous rnd; pull tight, tie off.
Sew head onto body.

Legs: Make 4.
Hoof color:
Rnd 1: ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hk. Continue in a spiral, do not join rows.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (8 sc)
Rnd 3: sc in each sc around. (8 sc per rnd)
Tie off.
Main Color:
Tie onto any sc of hoof. sc for 10 or 11 rnds. Tie off, leave tail for sewing to body.
Sew legs to body.

Mane: For the length of the mane you want, double the length of the mane/tail color yarn. Cut one as a guide.
Cut 25 or so lengths; tie one at a time onto where the mane should be. Don't forget about the hair in the front of the head!
Purposely fray the ends: Separate the plies of the yarn.

Tail: Repeat with mane, making the tail strings longer and tying onto the rump. Separate plies.

2  Gameboy 'Messenger' Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by kyraji on: April 01, 2008 09:10:12 PM
Though I still haven't made a carryall for my DS, I made a bag for my Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance SP, and their games. I found this great fabric at the only place I ever shop at, the $1 per yard rack at Wal-mart. ;3

The bag's style was heavily influenced by GothChic's DS carry case http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=227105.msg2461741#msg2461741, modified to be larger to carry both video games and a wallet/small notebook. I'm lame, I only used one type of fabric here. Cheesy

Top flap open:

Pouch, with my berry GBC and my black SP

Game pockets

For kicks, my games.

This took almost a full yard. About.. ten, 12 hours (nonstop except for sleep, lul) to make. I emptied a lot of bobbins of white thread. However, I <3 it. My grandmother, who things I spend too much time playing games, (what, an hour a day is too much?) Assumes I'm not going to use it all the time. Ha, ha.

So, tell me what you think. :]

(Also, first project posted on craftster! And first bag of any kind. x3)
