1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / looking for site with photo-enlargement software to print big on: July 23, 2006 08:30:38 PM
hello,

i think i saw this site in the context of funky interior design trick. it was a site with software which would
- enlarge your image
- divide it into 4x6 print-sized files to be printed...

... so you could get a large image without paying for large format.

has anyone else seen this? i'm trying to retrace my steps but it was a couple of weeks ago.

any help appreciated!

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / copyright policy? on: October 20, 2004 08:49:11 AM
i was wondering if we were headlong into copyright infringement, posting pics from old book.

i have this GREAT book i just picked up from 1972, which reprints crochet patterns from the 20-40s. it's amazing stuff. i'd love to scan and share, but i wasn't sure what is the policy on this stuff?

seems like this forum section should have maybe a sticky note about this or something?
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / diagram instructions? on: September 21, 2004 07:40:11 PM

i have tragic fits of frustration trying to decipher textual patterns.  but on a recent jaunt in paris, i thumbed through some pattern magazines for crochet... to my GREAT surprise, i saw diagrams for patterns... instead of the cryptic "c1 dc4, etc" text lines.

instead there were drawings of sections with circles, lines with slashes, etc which denoted stitches, like chain or double crochet, etc.

you could see the whole pattern at once. it was great. but, of course supporting text was in french, so no joy for me.

has anyone seen any good books that have patterns like these? amazon is great, but you can't flick through the books, and on the entire island i live on there is a dismal supply of crafts books.

also LINKS to any sites that you may know of...

thanks for any help.
