Are you here yet? I too am dependent on public transit. sacrt.com -> schedules, fares... -> "Online trip planner" Need to type in from - to addrs. I've always found it to be quite helpful. Look for the center city map. The ppl at the hotel are probably your best bet as for safest walking route and all. Daytime is usually safe.
Two places of interest are a bead shop... "Bead Fetish" "L" street near 18th. Been a couple of years since i've been there. That's in midtown and you might be able to walk there. 1725 L Street, Sacramento, CA There is a yarn store "Rumpelstiltskin". you might be able to walk there too. 1021 R Street, Sacramento, CA 95811
I'm struggling with my bi-annual asthma attack or I would love to meet you.
I don't think it's about experience. I think it's about esthetics and personal preference. I never really got into wearing bracelets cause they got in my way and made too much noise. I like what you've done. It looks really fun. I think maybe you could remove a couple of the round ones tho. If you remove all of them it might look a little too bare. It's kinda hard to tell from the pic, for me.
Fun idea. She's lucky to have such crafty and clever friends. Beads and buttons can scratch an iron. I don't have an official pressing cloth. I use a layer or two of muslin. A pillowcase would work. Plastic beads or buttons could melt. I would use glass or vintage. Cheap buttons will be more likely to melt. And then she can do the final press from the wrong side of the fabric. They'll be great!
I love these kinds of things. It looks great. I've found some small canvases probably on some sort of board at the dollar stores. Usually about 4x6" 2 or 3/$1. They might work for you too. Thanks for the details too. I get annoyed when someone posts only a picture and no information.
