1  Re: My first pictures posted on Craftster!!!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sactownsue on: November 06, 2008 06:02:41 PM
They are all very cute. I guess it's fair to say you like to use them...

btw: HTML - the line before the leopard pic that starts with "img]" is missing the starting "[" should be "[img]". Or you can delete since you added a post with the pic... or not...

I can't believe I'm the first to post pics. I'm not the first to receive am I?

The whole shebang...

Some detail shots...

The little apron is supposed to be for my Our Generation doll but she and my Chantilly poppet are fighting over it and the basket.
Items in the package:
Little doll apron
Basket with witch legs dangling.
Apron for me from special Oz flannel fabric that is SUPER cute
resin magnet with rainbow inside, I love rainbows
Teeny Tiny bottle with GITD glitter with "I Spy" diploma, heart, cross, blue gingham, I'm still looking for Toto.
Four little bunnies masquading as Dorothy, lion, scarecrow, tin man sporting buttons made by her dawt-her. You can't read the little black buttons they have but they say like "I'm the tin man".
Tote bag with more Ozzy fabric and stuffed full of stuff
Lots of stickers
photo album with rainbow on front
McD Dorothy, Wicked Witch, Glinda and a Happy Meal box
doggie calendar 2009
Lollipop lip gloss

I think I got everything - That's a lot of stuff!!!

If anyone wants more detail shots let me know.

Thanks Dawt!!! and whyme!!!

4  Doll Clothes - Our Generation and Baby Doll - (8 pics) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sactownsue on: September 16, 2008 05:02:30 PM
Some one was talking about hippie clothes for their poppet. Every time that happened I remembered the clothes I wore in the late 60's. Among them some moccasins sorta like this:

First pic most accurate color. Modeled by Our Generation Doll, Target's version of American Girl.

And now for some baby doll clothes I made for the "Spoil My Doll Swap" modeled by my lovely assistant Chantilly Poppet.

The Whole Package:

Flower Dress and Hat:

Sailor Dress and Hat:

The Little Panties:

The Bed/Tote:

The Tote/Bed:

These clothes are obviously way too wide for poppets. Length not so bad. I used commercial patterns for everything except the Tote/Bed, blanket and pillow.

Here's my girl. So excited about her packages.

and the contents of those packages...

Guess which one is her fave? I laughed when I saw the Alaskan Moose... How topical is that? And you bought it before Palin was picked! She needed shoes. She only had the pair she came home in. Same with the clothes. And the slippers are great.  And tights. Now she has play clothes too. And a pretty dress. I'm really tired and haven't had a chance to take action shots yet.

thanks so much JadedJenn. Great swap package!

7  Re: Poppet Outfits Only! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sactownsue on: September 08, 2008 10:35:23 AM
I made these for Chantilly months ago...
I was waiting until I got her some eye lashes and lids and finished her fingers and toes... Finally! And some pics...
Caution: the fourth pic is a nearly nude poppet

She's been watching the Olympics

Oops! She was born without a tail and I forgot her prosthesis... Poor thing.

8  Border Suggestions Needed in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by sactownsue on: August 16, 2008 10:49:01 PM
I've almost finished a sunflower quilt...
I have a pile of yellows and greens for that quilt...

I saw this Mystery Quilt-along ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=232977.0 )and thought, "good opportunity to use up some of that yellow and green stash". I added some pinks and and fussy cut fabric...

The design had a layout that just didn't seem right with the finished blocks, so I basically reversed the blocks. The SacTown Variation.

If it had not been a Mystery Quilt-along I would have had a vision for it. The design calls for a thin dark (green), a wide medium (yellow) and a dark binding. I'm not at all crazy about that look. So I'm not sure what to do next. I've had a few ideas but none of them seem to really stand out as the answer.

Here is my PhotoChopped version of what I have stitched up so far. I couldn't find a place to take a pic of it as is. Some of the blocks are not exactly as in the pic but the block placement is.

My version. There is more than one pic. They are consecutive so I'm just providing one pic and one link.

10  Re: i give up! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by sactownsue on: August 15, 2008 12:40:12 PM
Well... I had to make one. I used Alova suede cloth. It stretches so  the proportions could be a little different. The pattern has a tendency to bend at the "hip". To get rid of the splay... Have you decided what you want to be when you grow up? Here is your opportunity to pretend you're a proctologist... Put the back of the critter in the palm of one hand, using a finger of the other hand push up between the legs. Try to push the stuffing away from the back half of the critter. Also while stuffing put alot of stuffing in the legs and in the hip area. If you push the critter down on the table you reverse this process and end up with a fold in the hip.
Also Eliea's suggestion to make the middle of the gusset smaller will help eliminate some of the problem.
I have five pics. Here is one pic followed by a link to the rest.
