1  Hi (an intro and some pics) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Cennestre on: March 10, 2008 07:57:57 AM
Hi, I'm Stacey and I'm a newbie.   Smiley

Just wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on some completed works?  I'm still working on building my portfolio and I'm in a bit of a slump.  When I found Craftster and this forum, I was all like "Glee!"  Y'all are so inspirational!  I'm hoping someone here could help me get past my creative block.

*edit* Finally got enough posts to insert the pics.  YAY!  Cheesy

Here's some stuff that's fairly indicative of my style and abilities:

This one is a mixed media shadowbox (4"x4") called "Dementia Praecox."

This is a mixed media and altered art piece called "As Time Flies By."  I couldn't get the colors right in the pic (the background is a warmer brown than you see here), and the metal objects and vellum made it hard to get a good shot, but this is the best pic I have of it...  In the center of the altered tag is a gorgeous vintage photo on vellum, sadly I can't get it to show well in any pic I've taken of it.   Embarrassed

And this is also mixed media and altered, called "Yesterday's Child."  The pic angle's a little off, but the colors are fairly accurate.

Comments?  Criticism?  Ideas?

I hope I'm not being too presumptuous, asking for help and being such a "n00b" but I'm in such a slump and don't really know how to challenge myself or get to the next level.  Any commentary will help.  Thanks!
