When I saw this challenge, I decided it was the perfect time to utilize two ratty old shower curtains (that were stuffed under my bed just because I thought "there must be something I can make them into!" ) to represent my very favorite song.
Ne Me Quitte Pas by Regina Spektor has a phrase that is repeated throughout that says "I love Paris in the rain/ I love Paris in the rain/ I love/ I love/ I love/ in the rain." My raincoat is a tribute to that, with that lyric written on the trim, and the refrain (Ne Me Quitte Pas Mon Cher Ne Me Quitte Pas) is written on the sash.
I don't have any pictures from the making of, but I do have some pictures of the aftermath:
This coat took almost an entire clear shower curtain, about a third of a green one (because of some mistakes and the oversized hood) and a whole spool of clear thread (and a little white thread too). I can't use a pattern to save my life, so I just created my own right on the shower curtain using a dry erase marker so I could remove the lines easily, and I used my winter coat as a reference.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my project. I'm so happy that I did this. I love the song, and now whenever it rains I won't be sad because I'll take my little ray of Regina sunshine with me.
