Thanks!

These were made out of the ribs from an umbrella.

I bent them by hand, and 'enameled' them with a low temperature glaze. They're all meant to be off center. The pink one is my favorite shape, but I love the color of the turquoise one, even though I worked EXTRA hard to make it very smooth, and when I fired it the glaze crackled. Gah.

did you sew it on a regular machine? was the material hard to work with?

I did use a regular machine, and it was pretty nasty to work with. The green was fine because it was really robust, but the clear was like sewing plastic wrap, and the tension on my machine has been a pain in my bottom, so things got a little messy at times, but it was worth it, I had a blast.

When I read your post, I thought...<<Ne me quitte pas>> doesn't have 'I love Paris in the rain' as a lyric Huh Youtube informed me that Jacques Brel was not the only person to title a song that Tongue

Very cute jacket, I love the teal with the clear Smiley

I'm glad you like it, and I'm sorry for the confusion. I did mention that the song was by Regina Spektor, but perhaps I should have mentioned it in the title. Again, sorry for any confusion.

When I saw this challenge, I decided it was the perfect time to utilize two ratty old shower curtains (that were stuffed under my bed just because I thought "there must be something I can make them into!" ) to represent my very favorite song.

Ne Me Quitte Pas by Regina Spektor has a phrase that is repeated throughout that says "I love Paris in the rain/ I love Paris in the rain/ I love/ I love/ I love/ in the rain." My raincoat is a tribute to that, with that lyric written on the trim, and the refrain (Ne Me Quitte Pas Mon Cher Ne Me Quitte Pas) is written on the sash.

I don't have any pictures from the making of, but I do have some pictures of the aftermath:

This coat took almost an entire clear shower curtain, about a third of a green one (because of some mistakes and the oversized hood) and a whole spool of clear thread (and a little white thread too). I can't use a pattern to save my life, so I just created my own right on the shower curtain using a dry erase marker so I could remove the lines easily, and I used my winter coat as a reference.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my project. I'm so happy that I did this. I love the song, and now whenever it rains I won't be sad because I'll take my little ray of Regina sunshine with me.

Thanks everybody. I'm happy people like it. It is probably my favorite thing I've EVER made, and considering I make a lot of stuff, that says a lot.

I'm so proud of my slightly malevolent looking little bundle of BME joy.

This is my favorite pillow. It is supposed to be a puddle of drool.

SUPER attractive, I know, I know. It is obviously impossible to resist my charms.

And this is my roommate's favorite pillow:

I  made it to look like a fried egg (although it looks like a sun and clouds...either works, I guess) because all my roommates in my last apartment really liked fried eggs.
