I just got a new moleskine and I'd like to use a stencil to decorate the front... has anybody tried FP on a moleskine? I saw a few questions about FP on fake leather that got fairly positive answers, but I'd still like to know if anybody's tried this specifically.

I found my switch plate lying around my room from when we painted (a year and a half ago ) and decided to paint it before I put it back up. I'm on a bit of a TARDIS crafting kick right now.



And an action shot. The spot where my light switch actually is happens to be rather badly lit, and I didn't take into account the fact that it might clash rather badly with my bright orange walls... but I still think I have the best switch plate in town.



Started it a couple days ago, been working on it whenever I had a moment. Acrylic and sharpie. I wouldn't recommend the sharpie, it smeared a bit when I added the varnish on top, but I don't have a very steady painting hand. Something I need to work on. There's a few imperfections, but overall I'm quite happy with it.

I want to make my roommate a teddy bear stuffed with candy for her birthday (July 31). Long story WHY, but suffice to say it came up in a conversation once. I do sew, but I don't really have any experience with stuffed animals. If I was just making an ordinary bear, I'd dive right in... following instructions is fairly easy for me... but I'd like to make the bear entirely fur except for a clear (vinyl?) window in his stomach (to see the candy), and I don't know how I would modify a bear pattern to do that. I'd love any advice from somebody who's more experienced at bear-making.

My best friend and I are both turning 18 in May, and I want to make her a scrapbookish thing for her. I'd love to see any examples of this from people who have done something similar.

I'm just getting to the end of my room redecoration project, and I'm going to make myself some giant scrabble tiles that spell out my name and hang them on my wall. So I'm just curious if anybody else has done this.

I'm probably going to use wood, but I might use foam or something... I still haven't decided for sure.

I have been lurking as a guest for probably two years or more, and I just finally decided that I needed this question answered, so I joined.

So here's my dilemma. I may or may not be leaving for college (on the opposite coast) next year (it's a long story), and my best friend is still going to be here. Our birthdays are both in May, and if I am leaving (I'll know by then), I'd like to make her something. So basically, I'm looking for ideas for the opposite of a going away to college present. I've already thought of making her a doll of me, but that's it. Also, her boyfriend will also be leaving (for sure).

ETA: I forgot to mention that we're turning seventeen, but we both really like a lot of little kid-ish stuff, like crayons and ducks and things.
