Got half of my package today and it is bitter sweet...

The amazing glasses starcakes57 made me got broken!!! Cry
the weather in Boston has been appalling and not only has it made the post run slow but the roads are so bad the prob. got shaken to death! but what I can see of them looks beautiful I'm so sorry all that hard work went to waste....

(I almost cried when I saw the little crown, could you post the before pic's? I want to see)
but the good news is my other item in the box:

is amazingly awesome and funny! the note is the best part!

I can't wait to wear it in public! I'll feel so saucy!

4  squid bag...for my halloween costume in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Kimieye on: October 11, 2010 11:42:54 AM
I want to be a tentacle themed mad scientist for Halloween, I have a white coat, and some awesome green yarn, but the bag I wanted to go with it was sadly sold out from the Japanese Import store.
So with some left over material and most of the 2nd season of Coupling on Netflicks I made this:

 and In progress:

he has a felt face because the Corduroy I was using for the body frays too much for the small tube shapes I was forcing it into but I think the felt adds some nice contrast.

Here is the original bag:

6  Sew What '09 cuff and scarf set. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Kimieye on: June 28, 2009 03:38:51 PM

Made this yesterday at the Sew What event in Union Sq. The day started out scorching and then dropped like 20 degrees, so I needed something warm.
Sorry no before images, it was a dryer shrunken sweater that was almost felted. I cut off 3/4 of the arms to make the cuffs and cut the rest of the body into strips to make a very long a wiggly scarf. I added decorative buttons to the edges of the cuffs. To make them match I added a small row to the scarf, that attach once it's wrapped around to control the length.

7  Haloween! Reconstruction Grim Reaper hoodie in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Kimieye on: October 19, 2008 09:48:35 PM
So I wanted to be the (a) grim reaper for halloween, and I got this great idea to make the outfit out of a preexisting item... So off to the Goodwill I went and found this:
and turned it into this:

 Here are some flat images:

showing off the lining

and some of the details.
I'll I have right now is an old kenmore that will only do straight stitch...
I would have liked to surge it there was a little warping but it seams to fit fine.
The lining is thermal skulls (Very warm! I would have done more pic's but I was so excited and it was getting very hot) and the buttons are white and clear skulls.

Any criticism/ comments are welcome!
And I will be updating the images of the Skull mask and (time permitting) the scythe when finished.

8  giant girly tote and tatoo prurse. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Kimieye on: June 25, 2008 12:46:02 PM
This is a huge tote I made out of periwinkle blue pastoral print canvas, and lined with red star cotton. sorry the image wouldn't flip. It's big enough to carry a 40oz. and my cat with room for more!
there are two pockets in the inside one with a red star button for my phone and the other big enough for a wallet.
on the out side pocket I tried to match up the pattern.
I did not join the pocket lining in order to make this secret pocket...

This is a much smaller purse. Made out of a yard of tattoo fabric, I picked up last Christmas at the  Bizarre Bazaar in Boston and can't find more Undecided, with a exterior of black
Corduroy. The details are blue star buttons over extra large snaps. There are two small pockets on the inside but they are hard to see because of the pattern.
