1  Re: Zombie Swap #4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by craftyhippie on: July 22, 2008 12:58:00 PM
Okay Sorry I have been absent for a while-  More medical drama!  Well,  Got an amazing package from OllieOrange a few days ago.  She crafted for my boyfriend and he was/is so in love with everything that she made!  She made him 3 amazing bookmarks as he is an avid reader.

She also made a travel coffee cup with images from Night of the Living Dead - "I am coming to get you Barbara."

And I am super impressed with the Zombie Shadow box!  (Chuck is fascinated by it as well)  She used glow in the dark clay!  It rocks!

Here is a pic of my happy man with all his loot!  Thank You OllieOrange!!!

5  My Lucky Drinking Shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by craftyhippie on: March 15, 2008 10:27:27 PM
Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll EyesCheck out my lucky drinking shoes! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Okay I have never ever ever done a project with shoes-- St Pats day is comming up and I had in my head the perfect shoe??  Well, pressed for time and still unable to find my shoes whats a crafty girl to do??  Step one buy a pair of shoes from walmart for 5 dollars-white canvas loafers.

Step 2- Paint those plain white loafers kiwi green so when you spill your green beer on them they still look okay(I used acrylic paint with textile medium added in)

Step 3- Take out your seam ripper and go to town ripping out the strange gathered part to the shoe-- and start painting away using all the shades of green paint that you have been hording away in the paint cupbard.

Step 4- Sew in some elastic to hold the cuteness to your foot so that the shoe will not fly off of your foot while drinking a green st. paddy's day beer and dancing an Irish jig. LOL  I hope everyone enjoys looking at these shoes as much as I enjoyed making them over for St. Patricks Day!  Thanks for looking!

6  Celtic Trinity Knot Tiny Jordy in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by craftyhippie on: March 13, 2008 11:21:36 AM
So here is my new tiny little purse-- I have just started Applique and this was my second attempt-- I used green variegated thread to satin stitch around the Celtic knot-- I had a lot of problems.  My bobbin thread would not catch and there was a lot of profane language flying around!  I finally fixed the problem (I replaced my sewing machines needle) and it was all better.  So anyway here it is and I am extremely happy that it is over as is my seam ripper! and truth be told my roommate is probably ecstatic as well-- next time I do this Celtic knot design I will put it on a bigger bag.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!  Thanks for looking.

8  Bird is the word bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by craftyhippie on: March 10, 2008 10:28:15 AM
Hello all-  I have been making bags off and on for the last few years, although here lately more off than on.  A few of my friends and I are trying to get some crafty goodness together for this summer and we are going to peddle our wares at a few music festivals.  I am trying to get back into the groove of making bags again.  Here is my red bird bag-- I used felt for the bird.  Please tell me what you think?
