1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / buttons on: February 02, 2008 04:34:27 AM
Hi
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place on the net to get buttons?  With a good selection???  thanks...
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / amigurumi question on: December 01, 2007 07:23:30 PM
Well, I don't crochet, but I am looking for a pattern for a knitted (or felted) Boston terrier.  We have one and I want to make one for my boyfriend for the holidays.  I am pretty sure that there is no way I can design it myself.  I have scoured google, etsy....  any suggestions or things that others have stumbled upon??  thanks!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / double decreases (in diamond and smocked blankie)...? on: November 06, 2007 04:23:10 PM
hi
I am working on the diamond and smocked cover.  There are a bunch of double decreases instructed as knit 3 tog and purl 3 tog but I am finding them to be a little messy looking.  I was just wondering if more experienced knitters have a better suggestion for these decreases that will look neater?
thanks...
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / noro silk garden on: August 16, 2007 06:16:47 AM
hi - i was wondering if someone who has used silk garden can tell me a little about the feel of the yarn before I buy it.  is it as rough as kureyon?  i want to make a scarf with it, but not if it is too rough to the touch.  and of course, i want to buy it online, to get the best deal....

thanks.
5  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: IK Josephine-along on: August 04, 2007 10:31:32 AM
I am almost done with mine... so I am a little late for the knitalong.  I just have to all the picking up stitches part... which I am not looking forward to.  I added about 2 inches before starting the armholes to avoid the scenario of having the tie be right along my bust, because I think that looks REALLY bad.  Now that I have it seamed, it fits ok, and I am happy with it.  Just have to pick up all those stitches, which will hopefully get done this weekend.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / rowan mag #41 on: April 26, 2007 06:18:42 AM
Does anyone out there have the new Rowan magazine?  They do not give yarn requirements on their web page.  I am thinking of making the "Coastal" sweater, and all they say is that it is made from cotton 4-ply... if anyone has the mag, can you tell me how many balls?  Or if anyone has made the sweater, tell me about it...?
8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Wicked from Zephyr Style on: April 26, 2007 04:47:21 AM
I am almost done with my wicked that I am making for my sister as a surprise... I modified it by completely taking out the seed stich border on the bottom and the sleeves and using the cables there instead - I like that better.

But I am just curious... I wouldn't call them "mock" cables, because the yarn is actually twisted, right?  Someone help me, or I have done the whole pattern wrong.
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Saharah: Stitch Diva (Knit & Tonic) on: February 22, 2007 09:10:04 PM
I am thinking of making this for my sister... has anyone thought of using elsebeth lavold silky wool for this sweater?  i actually have never used this yarn before, but from its description it seems like it would be a good yarn for this project.  any thoughts??
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / The Walker Treasury Project on: February 05, 2007 05:18:41 PM
I don't think that this has been posted before... I stumbled upon this while wandering the web today and thought that some of you guys might find it cool.  It is a website that is trying to gather pictures of all the patterns from the Barbara Walker series books.  No patterns (because of copyrights) but they are taking pictures of swatches of the patterns in the book to show people.  I thought that it was pretty cool...
