I love these! I have beer bottle caps floating around all over the place because I go around collecting them at parties (I don't even like beer Tongue). How'd you make the holes?
Hi! I don't really drink much beer either. My boyfriend likes a cold one after work though Smiley I used a nail and hammer to punch the holes.

i love the way the color swirls and stuff.
so neat.
i am definitely gonna look into this whole lampworking process lol
great work!!
do you sell them or do you use them yourself?
i'd love to see some pieces where the beads are used!

Thank you!
there is a link in my sig to my Ebay store if you are interested in buying some beads from me.
I also use them in my own jewelry designs... I don't really have any pics of those because they are my personal pieces, nfs

I've always wanted to try this, but have no idea where to start.  Any suggestions?  Your work is beautiful!

Google lampworking, first... there are tons of resources online for lampworkers.
Also the International Society of Glass Beadmakers has a website, I'm sure there is info there on where to begin in your area.

The first thing I did was buy a torch, glass and glass... and a book- Making Glass Beads by Cindy Jenkins.... then I just fiddled around on it and tried making the things in the book. I got subscriptions to glass magazines (The Flow, Glassline). I spent a lot of time behind my torch, just playing.

practice makes perfect. Smiley

I love this! Even though it sounds like it didn't exactly turn out how you pictured it, I think it's wonderful! you did a great job!

that first set of beads makes my heart go pitter patter, absolutely beautiful work.  Glass is the one thing the hubby forbids me to do (accident prone and he has visions of ER visits and glass exploding)
it's nothing to be afraid of. nothing explodes.

Nobody would ever believe that you are self-taught.  These are magnificient.  Lovely work.
Agreed!

I have never taken any lessons or classes. I read alot of books and magazines and do research online. It's amazing what one can teach one's self when you put your mind to it.
