11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crochet tree on: May 13, 2011 12:20:56 PM
Ooooh, I hope this stays up for a VERY long time.  The general public needs to be exposed to as much crafty goodness as possible.  If you're ever in Chicago, there are plenty of trees in the park that need a crocheted outfitting :-)

The corduroy addition really makes this piece.  I love that idea and will be stealing it  Smiley
14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: A flower hoop, just for me! on: May 10, 2011 11:25:30 AM
That wall is fantastic!  Love the colors you used for your flower hoop.  I remember using that pattern in a swap a couple years ago . . . now I want to do it again all for myself!
15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: 16th Century Blackwork Partlet on: May 10, 2011 11:22:54 AM
This is so nice.  The blackwork is perfect on your shirt.  I also really like the thought of embellishing clothing rather than sticking with embroidery projects that turn into wall hangings . . . there's just so much wall to go around!

Love it! Owls fascinate me.
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Plastic Canvas anyone??? on: May 10, 2011 10:59:53 AM
I think plastic canvas is great!  I've mainly made kleenex boxes, coasters, project bags, ornaments, houses, etc.  One of my best finds of an already-created plastic canvas creation was a wine tote made by a senior citizen in a small town in northern Minnesota for their senior citizen craft show.  It was amazing.

I don't know if Mary Maxim or Herrschner's have patterns, but they do always have kits that are cute and reasonably priced.   I also like a prior poster's suggestion of ebay - for both patterns and supplies.

WOW!!!  And thank you for posting the pattern.  I just learned to crochet last week, with one of the primary reasons to be able to make flowers.  Beautiful work!

Beautiful mittens.  I love it when mittens have an interesting front AND back side.

Love the idea of using glow in the dark yarn
