142  Hard rock tee to tube top in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bsonlytoots on: April 06, 2008 01:05:35 PM
This tee was alittle too tight in the top for me, almost like they made the armholes too little ... anyways, I chopped it up & used scraps from a red tee I had and made a cute little tube top!

143  My DD's Fish in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by bsonlytoots on: April 06, 2008 05:35:53 AM
While browsing Craftster yesterday, I came across Ghilie's Tittyfish, my 3yo DD saw and insisted on having one .... NOW! Well ... she would not let me wait for a tute from Ghilie so, I had to come up with my own ... LOL. Now pattern maker I'm not, I'm new to all the sewing and stuff! Well, I didn't want to hear her plead anymore so I made a fish! Came out half decent! I present "Goldie":

She's a little lumpy, but DD loves her and that's all that matters! NO more whining! LOL

Thanks for looking!

146  Ladies & Gents, meet Fun-Bun in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by bsonlytoots on: March 29, 2008 10:06:16 AM
So I had to run errands today before the party, "Fun-Bun" Came along, he even drove! What a great help!
The pics:

Before we left he had to check the mail:

But A cat scared him and he jumped in the tree!:

So then He debated whether to take the Harley or The GMC:

He chose the GMC!:

Driving while talking on the phone is a no-no Fun-bun! Bad boy!:

Sooo .... we are now off to the party ... wander what he'll do there! Wink

147  Low cut, empire waist, halter top**TUTE ADDED** in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bsonlytoots on: March 28, 2008 12:40:34 PM
Ok, so I wanted to try to draft my own pattern, did that, then I was afraid if I had measured wrong or anything I would mess up good fabric, soooo, I took an Old Tshirt and chopped it up appling my pattern! It actually turned out half way decent! I need to make a few adjustments, but here it is:

*********TUTE ADD*********
For those of you who asked & have so patiently waited .. I present: a HUGE tute!

First the measurements:

trace all of your pattern onto a tshirt:
NOTE: I made the waist pieces and the front & back of shirt half size and cut them out on a fold:

I hope that covers it all! Sorry for the overload of pics! It's my first real tute! Any questions, please PM me!

Enjoy!

148  PJ pants & a friend! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by bsonlytoots on: March 27, 2008 10:16:11 AM
So I saw this tute from vegbee:
http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/08/double-tie-wrap-pants.html

And I liked the look, but the tie wrap thing won't work for the kiddos, so I just sewed up the outside of the legs and only put in one "all the way around" tie! Thanks vegbee!

I made these for my 19 month old dd & I also sewed up a little bunny (my first stuffy) to match!
Here they are:

149  OMG! I did it!! A Cheytown dress!*action pics added* in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by bsonlytoots on: March 25, 2008 10:23:51 AM
Yay! I have been dying to try this ... so I had an ugly old women's plus size dress shirt from some stuff my mom gave me to to cut up! I love the fabric, so I made a Cheytown dress for my 9yo DD! I love it! Sorry I forgot to take before pics, I was so anxious to chop it up!

Here is Cheytown's tute:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170402.msg1742893#msg1742893

Here it is complete:

I used the collar of the shirt for the front little flappy thingy (LOL), it was my first time pleating too! I centered it and pleated out from each side so that the collar edge would stick out on either side of the straps:

Back detail of pleats:

And the back of the dress:

Oh, and I used the neckline (under the collar) and top button to make a matching headband!

****ADDED ACTION PICS****

Thanks for looking! And comments & criticisms please!

150  The Newbie Made a Dress! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by bsonlytoots on: March 16, 2008 07:35:15 AM
Ok! I am so happy! I made my DD a dress ... it's not crooked or messed up in anyway ... and (drum roll please!) IT FITS!! You all have taught me well!!! I used a circle skirt and attached it to a tube-like top, add the straps & voila! It took about 1 hour (only cause I am not so great at taking the measurements & making them work!) LOL
So .. here it is!
Yes ... she is a ham!

And ... you can not post a toddler dress without the inevitable "twirl shot"!!

Comments & Advise, very welcome!
