11  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little guy's first Mommy made outfit (picture happy) on: December 31, 2008 06:56:57 PM
I finally made my little guy an outfit. Thank you snazzlecraft for the applique you posted http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=284248.0. I changed mine a little. I enlarged it and made it one solid piece. I only wish I placed it a little higher on the shirt, because you can't see it very well when he wears the pants. The shirt I used was 12m. I think the one she posted is meant for a smaller shirt. The pants are a light black denim and are lined with black, blue, gray, and white striped flannel for warmth and comfiness. They are big, but I wanted him to get some use from them. He is in 6/9m and the pants are around 12/18m. The guitar will fray a little after a wash or two. He seems to like it. He drooled nicely on it. Wink

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Six new family Christmas stockings on: December 21, 2008 02:32:08 PM
OK finally I'm finished. Sewing and children just don't mix. As my family grew so did our need for stockings. I searched the stores and could not find what I wanted. The prices are outrageous on Christmas stockings  Shocked. So I finally decided just to make my own.

13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / HELP.... I need more fabric on: December 20, 2008 07:57:04 PM
OK I'm not sure where to post this. I made my family all new stockings this year. I used Robert Kaufman "Days gone by holidays". Well I wanted to make a matching tree skirt but I can't find anymore of the fabric anywhere. I have searched everywhere. I bought the first piece from a seller on Etsy. She said, that she thinks she bought it last year. So she can't get more.

Has Anyone seen this fabric? Please pm me if you know where I can get it. I NEED it. Cry

14  COOKING / Dessert / Dora Birthday Cake on: December 16, 2008 07:41:34 PM
I made this Dora cake for my DD 2nd Birthday. It took so much longer than I thought it would. At first I tried printing out a picture of Dora and then putting a piece of wax paper over that and trace the picture with piping gel. Well the piping gel only transferred onto part of the cake. So then I had to free hand most of it. It turned out nice in the end. She loved it. That is all that mattered to me.

This was her first Birthday cake which is still one of my favorites.

15  COOKING / Dessert / Thomas Birthday cake on: December 16, 2008 07:31:13 PM
I made this cake for my sons 2nd Birthday. He loved it. I used this great tutorial that I found online. http://thomasthetankenginecake.blogspot.com/. I didn't use the fondant for the face. I just used frosting. The Buttercream frosting recipe is great. I use it for all my cakes now. The Almond extract is a must in that recipe.

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Messenger bag (diaper bag) w/ zippered divider on: December 14, 2008 06:56:00 PM
I made this over the weekend. I used this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182493.0 The zippered divider in the middle is waterproof. I am using it as a diaper bag. I still have two children in diapers and one potty training. So the waterproof pocket will come in handy. Also I can separate my children's belongings with the divider. I plan on making a matching wallet too. There was a little hook I meant to put in for my keys. I forgot about it until I was finished. Maybe I will get out my seam ripper and add it.  I would also like to make another for my 12 year old son for school. With less girly fabric.

17  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Smallville swap on: December 12, 2008 04:56:30 PM
Me and my 12 year old son are obsessed with smallville. When I explained to him what swaps are he said "Are there any Smallville swaps?". I said " I'm sure there are." Well I can't find one. So would any else be interested in one. I can't organize. I'm new to swapping. Roll Eyes So I guess we would need a organizer as well. I would be happy to help with anything that I can. Please pm me if anyone is interested.
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Kitschycoo's new pattern on: December 08, 2008 06:05:13 PM
This weekend I was a tester for Kitschycoo's new Double breasted coat pattern.
I used the same orange IKEA bird fabric. I fell in love with this fabric the first time I laid eyes on it.

Anyway ladies this coat is beautiful. The pattern is awesome. It's explained very well and has lots of pics to follow if your a sight learner. Which I am. It's easy enough for a beginner. I'm not sure when she will have it ready for sales.

It's big because it's a 3T/4T and my DD is a 2T. I made it big so she could wear it longer. It's reversible. I just have to get more buttons for the polka dot side.

19  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first peasant top on: November 18, 2008 02:08:44 PM
I made this peasant top for my DD. I used Vegbees tute. I added some length and the tie in the back. I love the fabric. I finally found something to do with it.

Sorry it's hard to see the tie in the back. The fabric all blends together.

Close up of the print.
20  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Amy Butler for Christmas on: November 17, 2008 01:28:56 PM
I made this dress for my 7 year old niece for Christmas. I'm going to be her favorite aunt after this. I used Amy Butlers "Daisey chain" collection and a pattern by Sandi Anderson that I bought on Etsy. It's called Portallopixie Boutique patterns "Gracie". I plan on making more. At least one more for my DD. Sorry no action pics.
