hey thats' really cool - i might search to see if i can get something like bamboo to glue to the outside although it may cost me a little more here in australia - i'm so jealous cuz we don't have anywhere that seems as good as walmart for everyday items or joann's for fabric supplies!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / making my own laundry hamper/bag... can you help??? on: June 01, 2008 11:44:01 PM
hi craftsters

so today i finally found out the truth about my tsubi jeans that were mia - my step sister had taken my clothes from my closet yet again!!!!!!!!!! i'm so annoyed as she has only been living here for 2 months and its the second time she's gone into my room and taken my clothes from my closet without asking...  Angry

anyhow i am now wanting to make a laundry hamper/bag so that the only times she will ever see my clothes is when they are on the line being dried or on me.

can you help me??? has there been any tutes on here for any as i wasn't able to find any that i liked when i went shopping today.

thanks
lou xo
8  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Pinup girl pattern? on: May 26, 2008 09:56:59 PM
ohhh i love the first one! i will be interested to see what comes - i may even attempt it myself.

have you thought of looking for a pattern that may be a similar shape but without the gathers & then you could use the back piece of the pattern and just alter the front pieces.

if i make this dress i will make a sample dress first out of the cheapest stretch fabric i can find so that i can alter it as much as i like once i've got it on and then unpick the entire garment and use the pieces as my pattern.

i hope that all makes sense and isn't to generalised to help!!!
9  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: John Varvatos Jacket - HOW IN THE WORLD DO I MAKE THIS!? Haha on: May 26, 2008 09:51:58 PM
its def knitted and in order for you to achieve the closest look to that possible it would have to be knitted. if ur keen to give it a try ask a friend/family/grandmother for help on the basics of knitting as its something you can then pull out each night while watching tv.

good luck!
