1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sea Life Swap (SLS) Round 1 Signups CLOSED Sendout 9/30/09 on: August 02, 2009 05:46:16 AM
Just sent in my info, and the brain is storming!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Mid-East/North Africa OR India OR Ancient Civ? on: December 12, 2008 10:03:16 AM
Is anybody interested in doing a swap in one of the following themes?

-Middle East/North Africa
-India
-Ancient Civilizations (ie Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Celtic, Chinese)

I may be able to organize, but am just gauging interest at this point as I'm still trying to figure out what my schedule for next semester will be like. Therefore, if anyone else wants to jump in and organize, I won't be offended. Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Crafty Detective Round 5? on: December 12, 2008 08:26:58 AM
I participated in round 2 and had a lot of fun... I'd like to do another but I'm not sure just now whether I'll have the time to organize (the previous rounds have had a lot of participants). So, is anyone else interested in another go? Anyone willing to organize?

My partner has received and has given me permission to post photos of what I sent her, so here they are:

An owl shadowbox--you can't really see the depth in this picture, but it was hard to get a photo without a lens flare!

Peacock-inspired necklace and earrings, and a Galah (Rose-breasted Cockatoo) magnet made from cardstock.

I had such a great partner!  Smiley

Thanks for posting the pics, pup_p_love!

Yay! My head is now full of ideas and inspiration, I just need to channel it all into crafts!

Ha, I've got the same "problem!"  Cheesy

How sad!  Cry Sorry shifty. My boyfriend's parents have one. It I'm sure is not quite as nice as yours (It's kind of evil.)

Heh, well, my family thought she was evil... she was pretty ornery, but she was my ornery bird.  Tongue  I had to give her away when I moved, but she's in a good home.

I'm looking around my bedroom and counting the birds I already have: an owl stuffie, owl candle, owl lamp, owls on my purse, songbirds on my jewelry rack, candle holder, incense burner, and throw pillow... this doesn't even include the birds I have on my jewelry and clothing! Yet I want more!  Grin

I also had a rather sad dream last night about the pet cockatiel I had until a year ago, who I was quite attached to...  Sad

I'm looking forward to this swap! It's been so long since I've participated in one, so it will be that much more fun!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Natural materials Swap on: October 06, 2008 02:16:02 PM
This is a lovely idea, but keep in mind that customs are very particular about organic matter coming in to the country, and Australia is especially strict. This is one swap where you may want to keep partners in the same country, otherwise crafts may be confiscated by customs and destroyed.  Cry
