SO I've fallen in love with making woven headbands to match the korkers I make. I even made a Valentine's day one because I love Christmas and Valentine's day the most! Oh yeah and I got to play around in Photoshop which I haven't done in approx. 6 months so it was lots of fun cropping and editing and using some of those cool fonts i've found!

Sigh. I feel so old. My beautiful niece Zoe is turning eight. I remember when she was a little baby laying on the hospital scale and now she's talking smack and wanting to hang out at the mall. God love her. lol 

Any who. Money is tight but I really wanted something AWESOME for her. She is not really into pink anymore and truth be told only uses it for ballet costumes if she can help it. I was just going to buy her shirts but I swear every shirt with a print had Hannah Montana so instead of going that route I had a stroke of Genius when I passed by some solid tees for $3! I embellished them.

On the blue is just an ironon rhinestone skull and on the white shirt is an Z I cut out using the Grinch font with a skull and heart pattern. I made matching woven headbands to with them I left a 1/4 border around where I sewed on the Z as well for that vintage shredded/fringe/rag effect.



I DIGRESS! On to the pictures!

So this year like many I am choosing handmade over store bought. I've been picking up ideas here and there throughout the year of things to make for those I love.

I've already posted the superawesome Conan embroidery I did for my brother now for some of the other things I have made:

Jack Skellington Ornaments for my SIL.



Snowman for me! I fixed the buttons where they got smudged after I took the picture and before I sealed it.



Button Wreath for my Grandma ( I threw in some red buttons for the holly effect).



For My niece Zoe the Ballerina a Ballet slipper stocking ( I have already begun sticking goodies in it so it looks a bit funny in the foot).



For my super energetic helpful niece Avery an elf stocking with bells ( too annoy her dad, my brother, with. teehehe)



I have lots more to make and tons of ideas and hopefully I'll get to post them up here. Let me know what you think!

Ok so, First, be gentle this is quite literally the first type of needlework I have ever done and I did it without marking anything just looking at the picture and and just kinda... doing it lol. My mom gave me two entire Ziploc full of floss, and hoops and such from her old stash that she never uses because of her arthritis. Anywho i've had it in my mind for some reason my brother needs a needled pic of his hero for Christmas so without further ado I give you Conan O' brien
P.S. Also I added the color afterward because I mentioned I had no tracing and also didn't think it would turn out at all but still I think he'll like it.



Now all he needs is a frame.

ETA: He is done in Split Stitch and French knots for the eyes and freckles

A while back I started making hairbows and in this wonderful world there are ribbon sculptures of princesses, people, pop stars etc. I wanted a TMNT but sadly there were no directions and none out there.  . So after many months of forgetting and then remembering and plotting and then forgetting again I watched TMNT last night and remembered again. Lol So at 2 am I got a wild hare you know where and decided to make this! It's still rough with a few adjustments needed and glue strings but i'm pleased as punch and wanted to show him. I'm so proud of him! He's made  entirely out of ribbon! I plan on making Leo for my niece since she loves him! I also need to make them their little weapons but I haven't gotten that far yet!

Ok. An old coworker gave this to me when she decided not use it for one of our dance photo shoots. It's a big section ( like almost 5 yards). She said she paid 30 dollars a yard!  I can't figure out exactly what to call it though? Is it tulle or tulle with ribbon is there a special name for it. She never told me what it was called and I never asked because heck it was Free! It's approx. 67 inches wide as well. I dunno but I figured my craftster ladies and gents might be able to help me out. Any ideas before I go made searching through fabric stores trying to find something similar?

Since I do not live in a house and instead live in an apartment which I love ( no mowing for me!) I have limited "front of the house" parts to decorate. So what better to decorate than the windows. I had seen on here before that you can paint on windows with acrylic paint and it wipes of with window cleaner or soap and water when you are done. Before my DBF would let me go full steam ahead we tested a small patch once it worked I was given free reign!

Here is the first window done.(The upstairs neighbor guys across the way were watching me the whole time and giggling when I'd smear a bloody handprint on the window    ) Also it's kind of hard to see the bottom half because of the screens but this picture is better than the daytime one where you can me in it .


This is the second window I did. It says Tick or Treat, Smell My feet, Give me something good to eat! and I also painted some little candies on it. It has a string of Black,purple, orange, green lights around it!


I need some help though I have one window for sure I still want to do but don't know what to do with it.  ( I also have one more but it isn't as visible from the front but is right next to the front door and is about half the size of the others.)

Well... Here's a fun boring story. Feel free to skip ahead! I have once before tried my hand at poly clay and it did not work out so well...*SHUDDER* This time I was trying to think of a fun cute hair clips for my Etsy. Suddenly, it hit me! A Bone Hair clip like Pebbles wore in the Flintstones! It worked out pretty awesome. I baked it right onto the barrette so I knew it would fit and then I sealed it just to make sure it stays awesome! My niece was totally digging it! ( I realize this made of poly clay but I put it here because it was more Halloween than anything to me, feel free to move it though!)

So what do ya'll think?

So after the power went out last Saturday and the bad weather went away and we began the waiting game I was trying to find a constructive crafty way to use my energy. After cleaning and sweeping the balcony and rearranging all the pots and repotting things I had a stroke of genius. I cleaned two of the extra pots I had just laying and around and created two Halloween decorations out of them. I first thought of the pumpkin and Bender came to me later after I was having withdraws from Futurama lol. Now some of his proportions are off but I didn't have a reference pic. Any who ladies and gents... Have a look see. I'm so proud!!!!

Side Note: Bender's Antenna, Eye Surround thingy and The pumpkin Nubbin are paper mache. Bender's Eyes are golf balls. (All the craft stores have been closed WAY TO LONG! lol)

ok.. so I asked a couple weeks or so ago about which technique to try knit or crochet and ended up settling on crochet. After trying to learn from youtube, several online sites and the book: Cozy crochet... I finally got the basics down enough to attempt my first project.

I bought two very bright skeins of yarn and ended up using both and when I finished realized I picked Dolphins colors.. lol. well here is my scarf it is actually longer than me at about 6 feet long but I like them long.


I realize some parts look like crap but i'm so thrilled I actually got it done that i'm gone pretend like it's amazing until I complete my next project that will then render this one a piece of poo lol.
