1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Chinese Knot Hair Clip on: July 17, 2008 11:19:46 PM
i used to make these too!  Grin except my teacher called this knot the pretzel knot, not a coin knot...i now know the actual name.

when i'm done with my current projects i want to start doing this again--make some pretty hair pieces.

3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Naruto Jacket on: March 07, 2008 08:17:37 PM
HAHA you are SUCH an awesome mom to do that for him, to go out of your way to even research what Naruto is and then make the jacket. It looks really nice, if I were him I wouldn't take it off either.  Wink

The whole costume is great...matches him well.

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: I Glove Stuffies--pics galore on: March 03, 2008 11:37:05 AM
 Shocked goat!!! and raccoon!

they remind me of animal crossing for some reason...or pikmin. the way they are designed. very cute.
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: sock zoo! on: March 03, 2008 11:34:49 AM
haha...yeah, i can see how she thought it was a hippo. my boyfriend likes to use his giant nose to bop me me on the head.

the thing is though whenever she sees me making an animal she never gets it right. i made an anteater(using a pattern i found here, coincidentally) and she thought it was an elephant....and another time i was making a bear and she thought it was a mickey mouse. it IS pretty funny to see what she comes up with, but sigh... Cry

hi all,

so we've all seen or probably made a sock monkey...well, i took a shot at it too, and made some friends to accompany him. meet my argyle friend ibrahimovic and his flowery pink friend 河馬2號 (hippo no. 2):

another view of hippo no. 2

why is he hippo no. 2? because 河馬 (hippo) is right here. he's supposed to be a white dog, but while i was sewing him my boyfriend's mom came in and said in chinese, "oh...you are making a hippo, right?" *falls over* she thought the black cat in the picture was a mouse too.  Cry cat's name is miau.

miau's cousin, which has no name because my mom took it as soon as i finished. "eh, so cute! how about you give this one to mommy??  Wink" what can i say? she really likes hello kitty...Cheesy

my sister also saw ibrahimovic and demanded i make her one...two, actually. one for her and one for her boyfriend.
the socks were old and so their heads were shaped like feet, so i took some gloves and made them hats:

thanks for looking! Cheesy
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Insomniac's Shirtdress from Men's Button-Down on: March 03, 2008 10:09:11 AM
i can't sew for beans at the moment but after i practice some more i must make one. i'm sure daddy won't be missing his old shirts  Roll Eyes the puff sleeves are what make me really fall in love with your dress <33 so cute! ahhhh
i've always wanted to have a shirtdress like that, but seems like my girls won't allow me to fit properly into department store sizes. boo.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Magazine Jacket/Vest... yes, made from magazines. on: March 03, 2008 10:05:02 AM
wow. a couple years ago i made a tuxedo mask costume out of a huge stack of scratch paper for my friend(cape, vest, hat, mask AND a rose!) but it definitely didn't look as good as this. nice job.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Shirt + Tank Top = Cute Girly Thing on: March 03, 2008 10:01:59 AM
woow, that is really cute! the colors match(especially since purple is in at the moment)and the elements of each shirt go really well together.

as for the hemline, i don't think it would hurt to keep it. they look like tiny coattails...Cheesy
