21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anatomy/Medical Swap (Sign-ups CLOSED, send-outs 8/4) on: July 06, 2008 02:08:41 PM
i'm so excited!

I've been collecting things ready to craft!

There is a guy with a shop next to mine who had his wisdom teeth extracted the other day and he's going to give them to me so that I can fire them in resin and make jewellery out of them for him.

Don't worry...I won't send any of my body parts to another craftster!
I even found a really good anatomical book in a local charity store that has real body parts inside...it was so good...i've been scaring my friends with it.

I was watching 'RoboChick and Cyborboy' tonight...as documentary about people who have had bionic arms and eyes attached to them.

I think that the human body is such a marvel! This swap is going to be amazing!

i love the last dress dearly.
you've done a fantastic job matching some really different fabrics. not many people would choose to put the tweedy green and the peachy floaty fabric together, but it works SO well!

well done for being fabric brave!

26  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: Funky Fabrics In Manchester =/ on: June 25, 2008 04:17:48 AM
Leon's in Chorlton is pretty good.
Abakhans' is good for rummage every so often, but they have a massive 4 warehouses out in Moston the Wales boarder,...which is a MUST day out for any craftster.

To be honest, I find that scouring the charity shops in Withington and Didsbury pretty fruitful sometimes.

And every so ofter, if I'm looking for a certain print or type of fabric I'll go on ebay and search....

I miss that place in Manchester that used to be near the Arndale : (
I remember getting 14 pairs of jeans for a fiver in there and some embroidery anglaise reems for about 2.
It was amazing!
shame it closed down

thanks for your tute.

I had a go at making these in my shop today and they look fantastic!
I've been sharing the skill with some other friends and now they can't stop making them.
I'm going to have to open a gift wrapping shop or something now before my house fills up!
