yeah he is a darling. we may even get married!....or is that taking my love for him a little too far?!

So I decided to make an axolotl a while back...but I've only just got a new camera. So I thought I would show him off!

I couldn't find a decent pattern anywhere, so I decided to free hand make him without a pattern. Bold as I am!
I used regular pink felt, pink cotton, a needle, two big buttons and my fiddly hands...

I love him and think he's simply dashing...







How cute?

I'm dead proud of him.
Now to find some other exotic animals to make!

I'm going to break some clocks and make a steampunk inspired rosette for the new year!

My friend loves embellishment and I always make her broaches...

This time i decided to hand make her a rosette...



I started off with two straight pieces of fabric. I slip stitch and rouched up both pieces of fabric, but with the none stripey piece I over locked one side first. I didnt do this to the other fabric as I think it looks quite nice when it freys over time.



Then I sewd one piece ontop of the other and sewed some buttons into the centre.



I added a strip of fabric folded over and secured that to the back. Then to cover up th sewing mess and to make it a little more durable I put a circle of grey felt on the back. Then a small strip of grey felt to attach the pin.



and there's me modelling it! argh...I should have put some make up on first!...but you get the idea!

A pretty simple for lovely gift.

My friend bought me back one from Japan and I screamed for ages! And ran around in a circle.
i think he thought i was having a fit.

These are gorgeous paintings, must have taken alot of patience to get them so precise.

Lucky baby!

It was my fella's 36 birthday last Thursday. We work in the same bookshop and I wanted to make cupcakes so we could share them with our work friends.

The aim was to make them so they looked like his FACE!



i think i did pretty good!
I used Coffee icing on vanilla cupcakes, with grated chocolate curls for hair and beard stubble and I drew glasses on with pen icing and made rolled icing for the teeth.



I made 12 face cakes and another 12 without the coffee icing and just a piece of rolled icing that had 36 piped onto it for people who may not like coffee.

anyhoo....he seemed pretty pleased with these!

my friend lovely owls and I missed her birthday while she was away in Italy travelling, so I'm definately going to put some time aside to make this for her.

it's great to see other rockers with a love for knitting. some of my friends are still baffled by the fact that I have tattoos and piercings but love a bit of 'knit one, purl one'!
