1  UNITED STATES / Maryland / Call for crafters on: April 01, 2010 08:20:25 AM
Hi All,

Sacred Heart of Jesus parish is having their annual carnival in July. We are hoping to have a crafters area on Sunday July 11th from 1-5 in the hall.  This is a new event for us and we are trying to bring some new life and a younger crowd to the carnival.  We expect a good draw of a few hundred people on that day.  Still working out exact space sizes but it will be $15 space/$20 space w/ table.

If anyone would like to know more info, please leave your info in the post or send me a personal message.

Thanks!
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Wig for an infant on: September 16, 2009 01:39:04 PM
any ideas how to easily make a wig (going for george washington/colonial) for a 6 month old?  it's more or less just for a picture (poor kid, we're going to torture him) so it's not going to be on for very long.

i have an idea of how to do the hair just not sure what to attach it to so that it will fit on his head.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Hair help! 50's flip? on: September 23, 2008 08:36:19 AM
i did this last year.  my hair was somewhat short so it made it easier to hold but i used hot rollers to get the volume on top and then teased, teased, teased so it would stay (and sprayed the bejesus out of it).  for the ends i think i used the smaller hot rollers to get the flip then went back over them with a curling iron.

i agree with the pp that velcro rollers would work too.  i know my dollar tree has packs of the large ones.

hth!

what about red licorice rope?  i would assume the worst it could do is harden as it gets old.
5  UNITED STATES / Maryland / Re: I sew, I'm a mom, I have no friends... on: July 08, 2008 12:40:49 PM
just wanted to say hi!  i live in linthicum with my husband, dog, and cat.  i'm 27 and have always been (or tried to be) crafty.  right now i'm into making primitives (and because i love halloween!).  i don't sew that well but they've come out pretty well so far.  Smiley i also like to scrapbook, making mini glitter hats, photography.  i'd really love to learn to embroider and get into some altered arts.

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Glitter Suggestions on: March 18, 2008 08:17:45 AM
i make mini glitter hats for pinup/burlesque.  i'm pretty new to the art of it all.  the martha stewart glitter & glue is wonderful but i was wondering if anyone knew of something i can put over the glitter (once i've glittered the hat) so that it won't continue to fall off?  i've used paper glaze which works well for bright colors but with some colors it just fades away the glitter. ideas?

thanks!
9  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hi from Baltimore on: February 29, 2008 11:49:26 AM
Hi Everyone,

New to joining Crafster but not new to oogling over everyone's awesomeness.

I like making lots of things but have yet to perfect just one.  My new 'venture' includes making mini glitter hats.  In my other life I enjoy retro pinup modeling so I thought the hats would be great to share with pinup friends and photogs.

Looking forward to learning lots of new things! Smiley
