1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / McCalls 5798 - Cute blue/brown striped top - round yoke neckline on: January 01, 2012 01:36:49 PM
My 10-year-old daughter designed this shirt -- I pretty much followed the McCalls pattern just adding a little length and the ruffle - I don't know why they can't make patterns for shirts that go past the waist...nobody wears a shirt that stops at the waist anymore...

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Reclaimed Fabric from drapes into little girl's twirly dress - Simplicity 3902 on: January 01, 2012 01:29:12 PM
Used old draperies from my mother's home (Recent Remodel removed all "floral" motif!)

My little princess daughter loves to wear dresses so I made this one for her today from Simplicity 3902

I have LOTS of the fabric left -- any ideas for my next project?

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Hats Galore! on: January 01, 2012 01:24:34 PM
I whipped up a hat a day until I had enough for my family to choose from -- here we are sporting our new beanies!

Pattern was found here: http://www.crochettoday.com/crochet-patterns/floral-cloche

but I did only use one strand of worsted weight and an I hook.  I even left off the flower and made a boy version.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Hibiscus Floral dress with belt. Awwww on: August 06, 2009 01:53:27 PM
I fell in love with this hibiscus fabric and for some reason if I love a piece of fabric, I have a hard time making something with it unless it is just the right thing...I think I did this fabric justice. My daughter loves this twirling dress. The dress is Butterick 4718 with sleeves from Simplicity 4658.  One other alteration is that I lined the bodice...I am so "over" facing pieces.  The dresss fits a little loose and long, but that is good since she will probably only wear it twice more this summer.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Flower Splash Dress with ribbon belt on: August 05, 2009 11:00:53 AM

This is Simplicity 4658 with a lined bodice instead of using the facing. I also added three inches to the length. She LOVES it and can't wait to wear it a couple of times before the fall hits. It is very loose fitting so she will have at least one thing to wear this spring!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Flowers & Plaid Top & Capris -- too cute! on: August 05, 2009 10:59:24 AM

The top of this one is made from McCall's 5798 View A and the bottoms are Simplicity 3749 View C.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this cutie patootie outfit on this cutie patootie kid!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Big Sister Sundress McCalls 5574 View C on: July 18, 2009 05:10:32 PM
This entry is about the dress on my older daughter. This was made using McCalls 5574 view C -- I think it has a very "big girl" look. It even has some gathering worked into the "bust." I loved making it because it doesn't even have any zippers.
My younger daughter's dress is described on craftster here:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=294732.msg3352994#msg3352994

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Bandana Fabric on a Pillowcase Top/Shirt on: July 18, 2009 04:56:39 PM
The girls will be sporting these new tops this week at Myrtle Beach, the small one on the barbie is for their younger cousin who will be on vacation with us, but they thought the Barbie model was cute!
My friend Tracy and I whipped up 4 of these assembly line style using a pattern and, of course, adding length, Pattern is 5797...anyway, a pillowcase top...bandana fabric...Texas here we come!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Daisy Dreams Pillowcase Dresses - McCalls 5797 on: July 18, 2009 04:53:50 PM
These two dresses are made from McCalls 5797 (with added length) and I used that nice Daisy Dreams  for the dress and a coordinating fabric for the tie & bottom Band -- They just LOVE the camera if you can't tell!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Big Girl Pajamas Butterick 4383 on: July 18, 2009 04:41:54 PM
Made these pajama sets-- my girls picked their own fabrics and they LOVE this pattern with the "triangles at the top." They think they are like grownup pajamas -- Butterick 4383 View D -- I am a big fan of these when you don't want your kiddos showing off their panties when spending the night off
