This is exciting because they are WASHABLE!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Sweet Little Dress (Leila & Ben pattern) on: January 07, 2012 05:58:34 PM
My 8-year-old daughter wears this same pattern as a nightgown.  She loves how "free" you feel in it.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: McCalls 5798 - Cute blue/brown striped top - round yoke neckline on: January 07, 2012 05:57:12 PM
Thanks y'all.  I'm a middle school math teacher so I had to squeeze a little sewing into my Christmas break before I have to start neglecting my own children to save the world! Wink
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crochet Hats Galore! on: January 07, 2012 05:55:40 PM
Thanks y'all!

That's me in the purple & orange "clemson" hat -- even after that awful bowl game!

I can make a hat in about an hour and a half - I am in love with this free pattern!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / McCalls 5798 - Cute blue/brown striped top - round yoke neckline on: January 01, 2012 01:36:49 PM
My 10-year-old daughter designed this shirt -- I pretty much followed the McCalls pattern just adding a little length and the ruffle - I don't know why they can't make patterns for shirts that go past the waist...nobody wears a shirt that stops at the waist anymore...

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Reclaimed Fabric from drapes into little girl's twirly dress - Simplicity 3902 on: January 01, 2012 01:29:12 PM
Used old draperies from my mother's home (Recent Remodel removed all "floral" motif!)

My little princess daughter loves to wear dresses so I made this one for her today from Simplicity 3902

I have LOTS of the fabric left -- any ideas for my next project?

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Hats Galore! on: January 01, 2012 01:24:34 PM
I whipped up a hat a day until I had enough for my family to choose from -- here we are sporting our new beanies!

Pattern was found here: http://www.crochettoday.com/crochet-patterns/floral-cloche

but I did only use one strand of worsted weight and an I hook.  I even left off the flower and made a boy version.

Would this work on inexpensive plastic Easter eggs?
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Flowers & Plaid Top & Capris -- too cute! on: August 08, 2009 08:51:34 AM
I love that top! How hard was it to make the circular neck like that? I have such a difficult time sewing circles!

The pattern is good for this one...you MUST mark all the little spots from the pattern and you'll have it easy...you can't eyeball this one

Too much cuteness for one photo! Cheesy

Thanks...you know I think she is adorable...it is nice to know others see it too!
