When I got my first unfurnished college apartment, I got a bunch of real cheap stuff at Ikea, including a LACK coffee table
. After about 4 years, my little coffee table had seen better days, so I started looking out for a cheap one on Craigslist that I could refinish.
I really lucked out by finding a great little coffee table for $5!
I love the drawer (perfect for my husband's Xbox controllers and remote) and the shelf. The table was solid wood and was in great shape except for the top; the top was a thin veneer and was quite chipped up and water stained from the previous owners. Since it wasn't really a candidate for staining, I decided to just paint the top. After a couple coats of spray primer, a spray paint (I decided I wasn't in the mood to brush), and quite a few coats of wipe-on poly, here it is:
Not a very impressive or difficult redo, but it certainly did brighten up my living room!
