1  WWJD (Wrist warmers just done!) in Knitting: Completed Projects by kyreth on: March 30, 2009 12:07:29 PM
I just finished these for a friend who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis.  She is very much a frilly gal who likes to "girly-girl" it up, so no plain warmers for her!  I knitted them simply in k4p4 ribbing but used purple, fuzzy yarn.  Then I edged them in black, sparkly yarn.  I added a lacy (sort of) edge and festooned them with abalone buttons from my grandmother's button box.

My friend is already enjoying them, now it's your turn to vicarously enjoy!

Cheers!

2  I saw, I crocheted, I felted in Crochet: Completed Projects by kyreth on: October 21, 2008 12:58:21 PM
I check the free daily patterns from Annies Attic at http://www.anniesattic.com/free_pattern_day/index.html and found this pattern.  It was shown as a diaper bag, so I altered it enough to make it for almost any use.  I carry my crochet in it, but it could be used as a market bag.  It measures about 12" wide by 13" high by 8" deep.  The handles are 22" long.

I used Patons wool and a J hook.  The buttons were a great find in my grandma's button box.  They are wooden and look like they are slices off a tree limb.  Very cool!

Enjoy!!!   Cool

Four more sets to add!

The first is for a friend who gardens.  I did the wheelbarrow design and a waffle stitch.

The second set turned out huge, but I love it.  The solid one is the Vdub pattern without the "BeeBeep" on top.  The variegated one is done in the Hourglass Eyelet, a pattern I found in an old knitting pattern book.

The third set uses the cat pattern and a butterfly stitch.

The last one is special 'cause it's for my partner.  She and I are planning on moving to Tennessee in the not too distant future, so I made the TN State pattern.  The other cloth is the Up the Stairs pattern.  I liked the way the yarn kind of came out as a camouflage pattern.

I am loving this!  I hope to do a few more sets and give them as Christmas gifts.  I plan on making some bath salts and coloring them to match.  I figured I'd put the bath salts in little jars and tie up a couple of cloths with a ribbon to each jar.  Sound good?

Cheers!   Cheesy

5  Itteh Bitteh Kitteh in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by kyreth on: September 23, 2008 01:38:37 PM
I took a couple of hours and made this cute little ball kitty.  I got the pattern here http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60307.

First the front:

Now the side:

She's about the size of a golf ball!

This is Scout (aka Jean Louise), my inspiration:

I must make more!  One can never have too many cats, you know!

Enjoy!   Grin

Four more!

I did the first one using Lily Sugar 'n Cream Stripes in garter stitch with a crocheted edge.  The second one was done in SNC red using the American Eagle pattern.

The first one in the following photo is done in a pattern I found in a knitting book.  The second one is the "dragonfly with his dinner" pattern.  I used SNC yellow and variegated yellows.

Off to knit some more!!!

Cheers!!   Grin

7  Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ SEPT in Crochetalongs by kyreth on: September 05, 2008 12:21:48 PM
After much confusion, here is the September square I did.  I more or less used the picture to see what the pattern should look like rather than strictly following the pattern itself.

Best of luck to those of you still trying to figure it out! Undecided

I've done two more sets of cloths!   Smiley

The first set is made with green variegated and white.  I don't know what brand, because the yarn in my stash had no label.   Shocked

I made the dolphin with waves and a checkerboard.  They are both kind of rippled, but I kind of like them that way.  I suppose I should block them if I give them as gifts.

The next set are done with Lion Brand sagebrush and seaspray.  I started to do the bee stitch for the first one, but goofed (happily) and created a sort of ribbed pattern.  I caught on to the bee stitch for the second one, using the bee stitch border pattern.

I've started on a couple more, so I'll post 'em when I've got 'em!

Cheers!   Grin

I posted in the 2007 thread by mistake!   Embarrassed  So, I'm reposting here.

Here are the cloths I recently made.  I used Sugar'n Cream: "Playtime" for the inside and yellow for the edge.

10  Re: 50+ Wash Cloths-along in Knitalongs by kyreth on: August 24, 2008 01:03:09 PM
Found this thread and had to try my hand at it!  I think I'm hooked!   Shocked

I did the first one in garter stitch and the second one using the Darrell Waltrip pattern.  I crocheted an edge on each.

Gotta go!  My fingers are itching to make some more!
