1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Satryess ~ think of James Machavoy in Narnia, but in female form =] on: November 01, 2008 08:29:44 AM
Sooo...I was a satyress [female version of a satyr] for Halloween.  I, personally, thought it was a sweet costume.  For one thing, I have furry pants.  Everything on me is hand made =]  {even the horns}  If you don't know what a satyr is, which many don't Sad , think of James Machavoy in Chronicles of Narnia [aka Mr. Tumnas].  I hope that you like it...I sure did =]   Just so you know, if you do make furry pants, 1) they are very very warm and 2) they make you're hiney look huge....

Also, sorry the pictures aren't very clear....my bad...

Dare to be different =]
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Hollywood Glamor on: February 27, 2008 02:48:59 PM
So, I just wanted to post this other project I made last spring because I loved it.  It was my prom dress, and I didn't want to buy one because the generic ones didn't really appeal to me.  I mean, I love them and all, but I wanted something different, you know?  so...ta-da! dress:

Little update:  the fabric is silk (a champagne color).  The dress is fully lined with a boned upper bodice with hooks and eyes inside.  Outside, there is a zipper that curves around my body, which I think is very interesting.  It is a Vogue pattern (V2929)...but I altered it a little.  You see, it called for a contrasting color for a *lack of better word* patchwork-y look of dress.  The pattern instructions were also very confusing, so if anyone is attempting it and has questions, I'd be more than happy to help Smiley

~sorry...I have wide birthing hips...tis a curse..

NOTE:  The top of the dress looks better than that...I just had to throw it on for that picture quickly so I could develop some pictures of it for a little project...also, it can sometimes get a little funky because it is lined with an inner bodice  Smiley

Hope you like it!   Roll Eyes
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / 'ello, I'm a pirate =] (My first post) on: February 27, 2008 09:31:04 AM
Hmmm...so I created this costume for two reasons.  One, being a Renaissance Festival in the summer for Pirates Weekend, and the other being Halloween this year.  I wanted to make something that I would consider flipping awesome (and different/fancy), and this is what I managed to create.  Care to tell me what you think? =]
