1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Cat lovers swap gallery! on: January 13, 2010 01:52:40 PM
Here is Mr. Fisk enjoying his crocheted dead bird:

For those of you that don't know, Wilson Fisk (AKA the Kingpin) is one of the villians from Spider Man and is Dare Devil's arch nemesis from the... well, Dare Devil comics. He is a HUGE DUDE, and I just knew, even when this little guy was a teeny weeny baby that he was gonna be a monster when he grew up, and here he is, in his best Wilson Fisk pose, with his new favorite toy!

Awesome hand-knitted washcloth with cat image. Love this! h_pets has mad knitting skillz!

Books for me:

Kitty toys. There were two of those orange toys, but they hid one from me. Tiger yanked it out of the box as soon as I got it open:

They were wondering why I had taken their stuff and were eager to get it back:

She also sent me this adorable (and yes, kind of creepy) cat decal, an awesome postcard which I will probably put in a frame, cuz I'm a dork like that, and some tags for each kitty with their name and a protective rune:

Here is (Princess) Leftovers sporting her snazzy new collar:

She also made an awesome green and brown collar that I had put on Tiger, but he wasn't crazy about it. I think you can kind of see it in the picture with the books, top middle. I'm going to try it on Mr. Fisk, if I can get around all that fur!

Thanks so much to the lovely and talented h_pets 360! You have been a great partner!

First of all, I would like to thank my partners for their patience with my slow response time since I have been sick. I have recieved from BOTH DoodleLou and GSpinn and absolutely LOVED both of my packages! They are fantastic swap partners and really made me feel better considering what I am going through with my health right now. Here is what I got from DoodleLou:

The pics really don't do any of this stuff justice. I can't wait to do something with the little wooden things! The little felted fellow is Mego, and he is such a charmer. His cute little nose perks me right up! The fabrics are so lovely and the glass pendants are beautiful. I can't stop touching the alpaca roving and wondering what I am going to do with it. Maybe I'll try to felt a little something for Mego! Everything was wonderful!

GSpinn sent me and equally wonderful package:

My husband was looking through it with me and remarked, "She has you pegged to a T!" Everything I got was just my style. GSpinn, I really don't know how you got so much stuff in one box!
Thank you both so much. You have been wonderful partners!!!

Sorry I have been a little "quiet", but I have been ill. I just wanted to say that I got my package from DoodleLou and it was wonderful. As soon as I feel a little better, I will post pics... unless DoodleLou has pics and would like to post them.

Sleepy time now.

Hi guys! Sorry I have been sort of "quiet" on the boards. I have been under the weather, but am recovering. I don't know if psychonmenphis has told you guys (I haven't really looked through the old posts), but I will be handling the out of the US swappers, so if any of you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me. I will try to be more on point now that I am feeling better.

My mom actually have an adorable embroidered image of a cat, embroidered with cat fur. Since her cats are distinctly two-colored, she simply saved the fur in separate bags per color and then had someone spin it into embroidery floss ^^

That is so cool. I have two looong haired cats. I think I ams going to have to start saving fur now. Maybe I can knit a new cat. Or felt one.

I am so ready to do this. I have been picking up little knick knacks and scraps of things for days just waiting for this thing to start.

They always just drop my boxes on the front porch, but I live in the boonies. Maybe that has something to do with it
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: HELP!!! Need help with diaper cake! on: November 10, 2009 03:10:50 AM
I tied them up with yarn. I have seen tutes online that say to use big rubber bands, but I couldn't find any that big, and it is much easier to slide the diapers around to fill in gaps and whatnot if you use yarn. Once you have the ribbon on (which is glued to itself so it doesn't ruin the diapers) you can just untie the yarn and pull it off. Easy-peasy!
