1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Fingerprints of Doom Shield on: February 19, 2009 04:59:05 PM
My chrome toaster is constantly covered in fingerprints! So, I thought I'd give it a little protection.

I used Simplicity pattern # 4341 with some I Love Lucy material my mom sent me from California. I cut out a few of the hearts and fused them to the black center piece and then stitched around the edges in red.

It's far from perfect..but it was fun to make anyways. I discovered that I don't like working with Bias tape so much, I'm pretty sure my neighbors up the street heard me cussing.   Cheesy Thanks for looking.

Comments good or bad are always welcome.

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / A mushroom stealing elf! on: June 23, 2008 11:30:52 AM
I've not played with scupley clay in years...But I found a pack of it on sale at my local craft store and had to buy it.

I wanted to make a fairy, but what I ended up with turned out to look more like an elf to me. So a mushroom stealing elf he became.

His head is separate from his arms and the mushroom. I glued in skewers so I could position them how I wanted. I painted him and coated in a potent layer of outdoor sealer to battle the elements. His head stands 4.5 inches from the base of his neck (soil level) and the highest point of his hat. Comments, criticism are welcome Smiley

3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Long time reader, First time poster. on: February 24, 2008 07:42:44 PM
I thought it was about time I signed up for an account so I could start commenting on projects. I've been addicted to Craftster for a little over a year and every time I poke around I find awesome ideas and projects from around the world. You guys are great and very creative. I hope to share some of my work with yall soon.

I almost forgot to blab about myself ^.^
I crochet (amigurumi, hats, clothes, home decor stuff), cross stitch, sew (clothing, home decor items, toys, etc.), make jewelry, decorative painting, and recycling crafts. I'll try anything once!
