521  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Smocking Black Top on: March 11, 2008 06:01:09 PM
What about putting a snap on the front between the smocking and the main shirt?  Then you could make a bunch of fabric bows in many colors, and then change the bow depending on which pants they wear with it. Huh
522  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Patterns for kids clothes (7year old girl) on: March 11, 2008 05:51:51 PM
For some reason I can't find this link.

Thank you sooo much for posting this video.  Makes it a whole lot easier.  Now I really have to try it. Grin
524  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Lookalike Dolls on: March 11, 2008 02:06:13 PM
Just curious if anyone here makes vinyl lookalike dolls.  Doesn't matter if the body is fabric.  My daughter's birthday is in october, and I would love to get one for her.  I just don't want it to cost $200-400 like the ones I'm finding online.  I'll even make the clothes if someone else can make the doll?
525  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: USES for covered tins (Altoid or other) on: March 11, 2008 12:50:35 PM
Here's a question about the tins and polymer clay.

How long do you bake it for?  Is there any special treatment you need to keep the tin stuck to the tin?
526  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Craft for my kid swap? on: March 11, 2008 12:00:39 PM
I would love to do this as well.  Do you have to be a "Friend of Crafster" to join a swap?
If not, my daughter is 7, very tall. (54" and 75lbs)  And she HATES pink.  I would like to make something for another girl, any age, or a baby boy.
527  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Patterns for kids clothes (7year old girl) on: March 11, 2008 11:43:54 AM
Hi ladies, I'm having trouble finding easy patterns for clothes that my daughter can make for herself.  She just started sewing in October.  Grin  I've tried working the simplicity patterns with her, but they are still too hard for her to do.
Any ideas/images/tutes would be great.
Thanks in advance

That's a really good idea.  How hard would it be to make one and put a working clock into it?
529  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Purple Galaxy on: March 11, 2008 09:41:03 AM

She's amazing.  And I like the fact that her legs are long.  How did you do the wings?
