462  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wanting to try it on: April 11, 2008 07:28:00 PM
Thanks for the help.  I'm going to try needle felting.  Ideally animals, and woodland nymphs....depends on how good I am at it....lol.

Just for reference....if I order 1oz to try, is that enough, or would you suggest getting 3-4? or more?

LOL That is so cute.  You should make a little story book with picures you take of the two.  Love the story, love the creations!

This looks like a great craft, and I'm really wanting to try it.

How much wool would you recommend buying to start / try?  And what other basic supplies do I need?
Also, if I looked for supplies on ebay, what would I look under?

I would leave it the way it is....draws more attention to the face.

I have tried both, and I prefer oils, only because they take a few days to dry, so you can alway go and move colors around, or add colors to mixes if you aren't happy.  I just found the acrylics dry to fast for my liking.

Very beautiful.  I really wish I knew how to do that.  I keep looking at everyone else's and being in envy!
I like the white one a lot, but I like the shade of the green one more.

Sorry ladies, I thought I posted this last night, but I guess it did not work.

Craftswoman, thanks for the input about the eyelashes.  What do you think I should do about the nose?  Felt? fleece? Paint? or leave her the way she is?

Ghile.  My daughter picked the fabric out of a remnant bin at Fabricland, it was called a velour mix.   And I could actually see the finished poppet as soon as I saw it.  As thus Gabby is here.

Time to start another...lol
