1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The Midtown bag on: April 24, 2014 03:09:25 PM

Sew this is my new bag! I don't need a diaper bag anymore so I came up with this guy. I blogged about it here

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / cross body bag on: September 03, 2012 05:09:35 PM

Here is my new cross body bag. It is a toddler diaper bag, big enough for a day out with my little man, but also a nice size for just a purse.

The strap is adjustable, so I can wear it on one shoulder.

sippy cup or phone pocket

zippered front pouch

adjustable strap

This was a really easy bag construction wise!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Outfits for a little southern gentleman on: March 29, 2012 07:34:08 PM
Popular down here right now are outfits with either a cute applique or the child's name embroidered on the shirt. I didn't want to drop $35 an outfit down, so I found fabric in the joann scrap bin and shirts from Walmart. $15 and 3 hours later I had 3 new outfits for the little man!

He wore this one today, and I was so pleased that other moms were asking where I found it! It was really hard to get the small polo shirt in the embroidery hoop for my machine.

I was even able to get bucket hats out of the fabric!

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Toddler size diaper bag! on: March 27, 2012 10:30:50 AM
I have been trying my hand at creating patterns, and have kept it simple for the most part. I needed a toddler size bag, big enough for a day out but smaller than the massive baby ones. I came up with this, it's a mash up of a lot of design elements I like.

this was the first version, with the larger band.

I am trying it today, so far so good. The side pockets fit my iphone in one and his sippy in the other. Which one do you prefer?

When I am finished with the total design, I will post the pattern as a free tutorial on the blog!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / smocked baby dress! on: February 12, 2012 03:38:01 PM
I just started to learn how to smock. Love it, but very time consuming. Plus the patterns are really expensive. This smocking piece was my learning piece, so when it was finished I had to figure out what to do with it. I kind of made up the pattern to this little dress with a sun bonnet and diaper cover!

I hope to start another smocking project, this one a choo choo train for my little boy!

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Daddy Diaper Bag on: February 07, 2012 05:25:25 AM
Since so many men are now sharing in child care duties, I made these 2 diaper bags for dad to be's!

I had made a steelers one a few years ago and it was a huge hit with the dad.

I posted a tutorial here

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My Little Pony hats fixed eye problem!! on: November 19, 2011 06:37:23 PM
My last version the eye appliques were aweful. I used wonder under on 1 layer and it was all wonky. Here I cut 3 pieces and stitched together so they weren't too bulky, using wonder under with each piece. I also used 3 pieces of stablizer underneath.

This one is Starshine, a Pegasus Pony

So much happier with this one, might have to redo the first too!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My Little Pony Hats! on: November 17, 2011 02:59:33 PM
We made fleece My Little Pony Hats! E wanted Twilight and S wanted Pinkie Pie. I am not too happy with how the applique eyes came out, but the girls like them! I might try to do another one with a different stitch and stablizer.
