1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Shop the Swap 63 **Discussion Thread** on: September 02, 2012 09:03:37 PM
So, instead of a monthly signup for STS, it would be a swap run about 4 times a year with 1mo for signups and then about another month or so, total, for all the claiming/sendouts?  Also, we'll start and end each round with 3pt regardless if we will be carrying over to the next round?  I'm guessing the swap will no longer be considered an 'ongoing' swap, if you will, with an excess/deficit of points for those not making it back to 3pt like it used to be.  Hmmm...this sounds like a pretty good way to try to reign in some more new people to the swap Smiley

I have an event I'm working as well as a fundraiser I'm putting on in late Sept, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to jump in for the Holiday Market or not...depends on what kind of stock I can come up with between now and then.  My spare time HAS been spent focusing on crafts lately, so I may be able to crank out a few good things Smiley  Hell, I put out 3 complete pieces of clothing in about 8 hours (only 1 was pre-cut and in a WIP pile, other 2 were from free-hand patterns I made myself when I sat down to make them!) so I've been pretty fast when I sit down and put my mind to it.

Thanks, everyone Smiley  I'm super stoked with how I'm going along!

So...I'm guessing we are still on a break with STS seeing as there's not really any current crafty talk and 'shop updates'.  Hope to be back in when we get started again...provided the hurricane doesn't blow my house away in a few days Sad

HI, EVERYONE!!!  I'm starting to get back into the crafty groove again, FINALLY.  Been AWOL since a couple months before my surgery, and I'm finally ready to get back into crafts again.  Been stretchin' my legs on a couple djembe drum bags, will be making some new linen pants and some other quickie clothing items for me and the Mrs shortly.

Surgery was a TOTAL success, 66lbs lost to date Smiley  Going strong at the gym, pounds are falling off weekly and not coming back!  Hence, the need for new clothing mentioned above.

Is STS on hold still right now?  I haven't thumbed through the previous pages to check it out, and I notice there is no current round in the swaps board right now.  When will we be starting up again?  I think I may be returning with a whole new shop Smiley

Geez, I'm about 2 years LATE to seeing this thread, but am so thrilled to have been mentioned a couple times as a fave organizer Smiley  Thanks so much!

Some of my faves would have to be loves2experiement and alteredmommy on the STS, of course, and pinkleo, LimeRiot, and Samsara.  I love the Giant Theme, Hoopla, and Hippie swaps, always my faves to join.  I've been a bit AWOL since before my surgery (had it in April), and hope to jump back in with both feet soon.

I love the pop of color at the waist with the yellow belt!

Love the stripes!  Such a fun and festive look Smiley  I love the chevron stripe match up on the back.  I have SO many bedsheets, both new and old, and I have SOOOO many projects in mind for them.  They really ARE some of the best ways to get large quantities of cotton fabric, good and durable fabric at that, too!

Cut out and am sewing a couple apron tops.  FINALLY getting over my craft block Tongue  I've been off over 2 weeks since my surgery, and have done NOTHING crafty except think about crafty stuff I want to do.  I'm 30lbs down total as of Monday, BTW Grin Grin  Technically, the first week was my recovery week, but by this past week I should have been doing something.  I also made up the pattern and cut out the squares for my TM rainbow bag I want to make and have done by the end of June for a pride festival we're going to.  I'm also still sitting on my shop update for STS, gotta go through what I have up right now still and see if I want to keep all of it around or discount it or remove it to the give-away bags.

Lookin' good, indigo Smiley  Love the gray slouchy hat!  Too bad it's not cold enough, long enough here in FL for me to take full advantage of winter stuff Tongue

lxm, that's the kind of house with funky style I lust after when watching House Hunters on HGTV...I'd totally go for it!

Today is Monday, first day of the remaining 3 weeks I'm approved off work to be homebound recovering, and my brain is mush with thinking about all the projects and stuff I can be working on uninterrupted Tongue

I worked on a TM needlebook yesterday, I made it with super strong interfacing, but it didn't come out how I was envisioning, so I will try again, but with no interfacing, just the patches and whatever I do them to stiffen them up.  Also, with the super thick interfacing, you get like 0 dimension from my pressing the interfacing to the patches...I like that it's hard like a book, but I don't like missing out on all the cool texture that the TM style brings.

Woot!  Another round!  I have a ton of new stuff to add, and after this initial week of recovery from surgery, I'm planning 3 weeks of crafting and cleaning out all over the place.  We'll see how much more ends up in my shop, or what I decide has sat in the shop long enough and needs to move on to Goodwill.
