861  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Edible Paper Maker? on: March 05, 2008 10:35:41 AM
I got some of those markers. They worked OK for the 'confetti' i drew on the cake, but the tip was very big and hard to work with. The wording and the pictures I tried to draw didn't look very good at all. I put spots all over the cake to hide that fact. Grin

Question: How important do you think it is to the overall attractiveness to have the stitching on the sides lined up? I notice that I did a reaaaally bad job of making them match. Does it matter?
Other Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

I didn't even notice til I read your question. Smiley I'd say it is a nice touch, but doesn't really matter. I love the looks of that. Plus, I bet she won't loose it now - the way I always loose mine...  Cheesy

864  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Harry Potter Scarves, What's a fair price? on: March 03, 2008 08:56:21 AM
a common price for crafters that I've seen is to take the price of the materials and multiply by 3. So for you I'd say $15-20 a scarf. Smiley

you post books you don't want any more and people can order them from you for free, you use that credit to order from someone else for free. you only have to pay for media mail shipping. i love it. they don't have too many craft books, but if you hang out in the bazzar and craft forums then you can strike gold

if you go then i refered you!! my sn there is minathia too  Grin
867  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Advice on embroidering a tie on: February 29, 2008 02:43:05 PM
a stablizer should help to keep the fabric from bunching when you're done.

Also, ties can 'unfold'. The back has two sides folded down to meet in the middle, and that's what gives the tie it's shape. (I'm sure you know this, but I want to be clear Cheesy ) you can undo the stitching, and embroider on the front and then fold the pieces back down to protect the back. stitch them back close to how it was origonally, and you've got yourself a neato tie Smiley

hope that helps!  Wink
