41  Re: OTT Valentine's Sailor Moon Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: February 19, 2011 01:56:05 PM

You guys have no idea how involved it was to make this post from my phone! But I had to show off Striker's work and I couldn't wait.

It's a picture from the manga of Elios and Chibi Moon - one of my fav couples. I realy love how the color of Rini's hair pops out. It's so unbelievable to me how accurate everything is. Even though it's mostly black, there's no question what each line is. That's so out of my league! Smiley

The detail is amazing and I took a close-up shot to show you guys. Ill post that later!

Thanks you partner! And thank you organizer! Absolutely made my week.

I've received from both of my partners, and not only are they both firefly based, they're both on the same character!!

From AlmostDawn (I got this about a week ago, sorry for the wait!) She got this off my wist Cheesy

And Sugarbunny, just got this in today. I love the hat!!! The patterned stitches are way cool, byt the pompom and tassles are my favorite part. I love the 3d-ness of it!

So my partner WAAAY outdid me! I somehow missed the fact that she was also a Harry Potter fan (I totally go for geek first when crafting!) but she was on top of things when stalking me Grin For which I am very grateful! <3

In fact, this quote was from a tiny little pendant that was one my wist. I no longer need to wist it - because now I have the real (and so much cooler) thing!

Honestly I love this. Is it crazy that I picture myself hanging it in my laundry room (once I'm fancy enough to have my own laundry room) and wistfully thinking of Hogwarts while pretending to fold? Yes it is. I'm going to do it anyway. Cheesy

My partner also included a cute little wiener-dog note. <3 JacquelineD, you way spoiled me!!!

ETA: The text is all cross-stitch, and the yellow stars are embroidered. Sorry the pic came out a little fuzzy!

44  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Swap Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SiakelA on: November 08, 2010 06:21:26 PM
I received from my charms partner Calabaza in the middle of last week. I'm not the best at posting photos promptly...sorry!

In this photo you can see on the left a blurry plastic chinese takeout container filled with confetti and stars and best of all fortune cookies!! I vote yes on these especially, I'm a huge fan. I'm saving all my edibles for movie night, so I'll make a post then about the fortunes themselves. - Note that you must have your cookie chosen by someone else in order for it to be true.

In the middle is a giant (compared to the one I made! PS don't use fun-yarn to make pom poms...) pygmy puff! My little Sprout has her own witches hat to wear to the movie.

Next to that is my other favoritest thing - a green tshirt with the star constellation of Draco painted onto it!! OMG I'm seriously in love with it. It embodies my love of "secretly geeky" my love of draco and slytherin, and obscurely my love of sirius - at least it makes me think of the blacks every time I look at it. It's testing my patience because I definitely want to wear it now. Smiley

A note, a chocolate that looks like it has a secret, and a mix for cookies makes up the bottom row. I'm driving out to see family in Missouri, so I will be making those up for my favoritest nephew.

My game is wizard checkers! (I got a toy AND a game! I'm very spoiled!) It has teams for all 4 houses, and rules on how to play the house championship. It also comes with a nifty handmade bag to hold it all. Should I play as Slytherin or Hufflepuff though??

THANK YOU SO MUCH PARTNER!!!! I know I wasn't the most talkative this round, but getting this package made me feel great. I hope you like yours half as much as I love this. Cheesy

i finnaly took pictures! Actually I took pictures two days ago.... but hey, better late then never!

I recieved a very cool tshirt (shown as front and back) with all of the planetary signs. I got sailor moon earrings and a choaker, shown in the first photo, which showed up in a VERY fantasically awesome little box painted to look like one of her transformation broaches. (Can you tell what my favorite thing was?) The rainbow scarf is representative of Inuara's personal senshi, whom we talked about a great deal. I also got a cute little note written in Sailor Mercury's perspective, and a bunch of tape measures because I couldn't find mine for about 2 weeks and ended up buying a new one...

All in all this was a great swap. I'm really happy to have been a part of it, and I definitely feel like I made some good friends along the way. Thanks for having me! Smiley

I designed Sailor Sunbeam about 8 years ago. I can't totally remember the storyline I thought up for her, but Mars was her mother, and no one knew her father except Mars and Jupiter. She was going to hook up with Chibi Moon and Helios' son eventually. I had the perfect little romantic world thought up. Cheesy

I worked on this a bit more today. I've got the shield totally done, and I attached my first bit of green today. Cheesy

This is what I saw when I opened the box, only there were also bits of purple tissue paper wrapping everything and making it more exciting!

I literally squealed when I saw the handwritten letter addressed to "Minathia-Sedai" My husband thought I was nuts. (not that that's different from the rest of the week in any way lol) It's written as if from one sister to another. There are little gifts from my sister's travels. (Seriously about to squee again here. The geek in me just can not get enough of this little bit of role playing.)

My first hand bound book is in here! I haven't decided what will go in here, but you can bet it will be geeky. Smiley

And as if that wasn't enough, the second letter is from the Amyrlin Seat! She sent me angreal to help discover the Black Ajah. They have directions on how to use them and a little bit of what they do and their history. Another bit of roleplaying and creativity that I was NOT expecting and very much love!

The charm bracelets are to signify Mat and Perrin. I <3 those guys way too much, so I'd have to say that's my favorite part. I will be wearing these everywhere!

There are also earrings and matching hair ornaments. They're in my birthstone colors! Very pretty. Smiley

And the necklaces! The blue one is pretty, but I've been wanting a tree of life pendant for a long time. What a win there!

I almost forgot to take pictures of what was in the little bags! Some dice for Mat, with the Dark One's Eye on them instead of a single pip. I would use these while gaming if I could convince my DM that they weren't weighted improperly. I'll give it a shot. Cheesy Lastly some bookmarks. These are great. They symbolize each of our favorite boys, and that dragon charm is just the right amount of Rand for me. Enough that you remember he's there, but not so much that he starts to get annoying. Grin

So yes. I'm totally spoiled. I really love that my partner and I had different skills. I think that really adds good things to a swap. Smiley

Thank you thank you thank you! Know that everything has come to a good home and will be loved. Smiley

Phew!!! I spent all weekend crafting (aside from some awesome shopping at the farmers market and breaks with the hubby!) and I just finished! I'm really excited because I can be proud of these items. They are things I would be more than happy to receive, well made and they don't look too geeky. Cheesy

I really hope you like them HowLovely! Here's some teaser photos:

50  Re: DIY Craft Kit Rd 12 in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: August 12, 2010 06:31:07 AM
I got a poppet kit from Puamelia (ghille?) a few days ago. It's definitely raised my bar for what I need to be sending out!

I got all sorts of fabric and notions, yarn for hair, a dress for my poppet so she won't be nekked, candies and erasers, and the coolest book I've ever seen. Honestly the book alone is the most thoughtful gift I've ever received. It's a mix of tutorials and hand written hints and tips.

(also in the photo is bread I baked last night, my purse, the movie Kick Ass and some razzberry iced tea - my photo space was limited!)

A close up of my notions and fabric. There's eyes, needles, clay, and a hundred other things in there, I swear!

Again, I love the book. Smiley

So thanks again!!
