32  Re: Journal Cover Swap--GALLERY!--Send Out Nov. 7 in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: November 12, 2011 10:03:41 PM
Hi all! Sorry I have been on radio silence the past couple weeks. I last minute went to Unleash the Power Within per work. It was AMAZING!! I walked on fire Smiley I got back on Monday and the package from AmandaBL was waiting for me.

I absolutely love the cover! It is so bright and cheerful. My sister is having a hard time at college, and loves mustaches, so Im actually going to pass it on to her. She's seen it already (gotta love skype) and she literally squealed! So thank you Amanda on behalf of both of us!

Close-up on the stash-ness...

I loved this swap. Im going to make a ton of these journal covers.

I  received from Rubylynns, and the hoop is fantastic! My favorite parts are her face (those lips!) And the heart  Kiss

Thanks for making my first experience with an ongoing swap a great one!

Thanks also to my other partners, and particularly the fan-bloody-tastic swap organizer. I don't know how you keep track! :-)

I received from amnesia yesterday! She was way on top of it with finishing my hoop - go her!!

She went with my japanese temple, and chinese zodiac (rabbit) theme. It came out even better than I would have thought!!

Close up of the rabbits

Close up of the temple. It's 3d!!

The blue fabric is actually from a trip of hers to Japan. That really touched me, because it put a piece of a country I love into the hoop. I think the colors and theme really turned out great. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Thanks for grabbing me up!

36  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: August 14, 2011 07:42:31 PM
I recently did a personal swap with Pearliepie. She was an awesome swap partner, and it was so stress-free swapping with her. Smiley Just what I needed!

As a bonus, her hoop for me arrived right at my birthday! What timing! Wink

With no further ado:

Isn't she just a sweetie! I love the colors an fabric choices. In fact, after seeing this and my other most recently received hoop, by husband helped me designate a hoop wall!! I'm super excited!

PS: I also received a bag of beads for my stash, but I forgot to take pics. Whoops!

38  Not technically cake.... in Dessert by SiakelA on: June 03, 2011 09:12:58 PM
The cake is a lie!! Cheesy

I made this Portal inspired "cake" for my husband for his birthday. I could have sworn I got inspiration on this board, but I can't find the link. Huh

Without further ado, my cake!!

My "cake" is make from an upside-down plastic container that I filled with a pyrex cup wrapped in a silicone baking sheet - so it had the right weight and didn't make noise or shift. I stuck it down with glue dots I found in my stash.

I took a funny before picture, but my phone didn't save it I guess. Sad

My husband doesn't like cake, so I'm actually going to bake brownies - but I couldn't pass up doing this as well. I thought about doing cup-cakes and covering them with icing to be a fake "cake" .....but how often can you convince someone to in all seriousness, try and serve a plastic cake? Grin

Looking forward to photos tomorrow!! Or maybe Ill just do video. Should be good either way. Cool

39  My own Unicorn! in Needlework: Completed Projects by SiakelA on: June 03, 2011 09:04:59 PM
Hi all!!

My unicorn was (clearly) inspired by this post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=378541.0

The original poster was even kind enough to give me her pattern for the unicorn!! Thank you SanDorfALot!

I made this for my best friend, after she saw me squealing over the original craftster post. She picked the colors for the mane. Smiley

I hope you like it! She's going to frame it, and send me a better photo. I'll upload that when I get it. Smiley

40  Re: OTT Valentine's Sailor Moon Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: February 19, 2011 01:56:05 PM

You guys have no idea how involved it was to make this post from my phone! But I had to show off Striker's work and I couldn't wait.

It's a picture from the manga of Elios and Chibi Moon - one of my fav couples. I realy love how the color of Rini's hair pops out. It's so unbelievable to me how accurate everything is. Even though it's mostly black, there's no question what each line is. That's so out of my league! Smiley

The detail is amazing and I took a close-up shot to show you guys. Ill post that later!

Thanks you partner! And thank you organizer! Absolutely made my week.
