1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: why can't i figure this out?!!? on: August 22, 2008 04:11:21 PM
If I understood correctly, this is what you need to do:

count 5 rows below the row you're knitting, insert the needle in the stitch on the fifth row below and pull yarn through (knit it as if it's a stitch on your left needle), this will pull up the rows below up to the row you're knitting.

slip the next stitch and drop four rows down as if you're unraveling it. the stitches should look like a ladder.

insert the needle in the lowest unraveled stitch (the beginning of the ladder!) and place all four stitches on the needle.

now you have 5 new stitches on your right needle (the one you pulled from the fifth stitch below + the four unravelled stitches), transfer all of them to the left hand needle and knit them together.

I hope this helps, I also suggest you contact the person who sold you the pattern for help.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Tea Cosy on: April 10, 2007 02:37:25 AM
Hi there,

My mother-in-law saw an old episode of the Martha Stewart Show and she told me that there was a segment with a teapot in that had a very nice knitted or crocheted cosy, it seems that it had some frills.

If anyone has seen this and can tell me where to find a photo of it because i want to make her a similar one as a gift for her birthday.

Thanks,

Lara

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Projects from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" on: August 07, 2006 04:26:58 AM
hi everyone, i just got the book Smiley and i bought some yarn for the hourglass sweater, i tried the gauge (first time i ever do this!) and it turned out to be the same gauge as in the book, after i cast on the stitches for the sweater according to my measurements (87 stitches+87 stitches) and joining the round, it really looks small (the diameter) is this the way it's supposed to be or should i cast for a larger size?

please someone reply because i'm really excited to start knitting this sweater

i had some leftover yarn so i croched these hats for a friend's baby. they're very easy and quick to make, it just takes a couple of hours (less if you're fast).
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted baby items on: February 12, 2006 10:37:36 PM

i made these for a friend's baby, i also knitted a duck and stuffed it with some filling, but forgot to take the picture! the daisy on the cardi is crochet and it matches the buttons (they are daisies as well)
