1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Birthday Invitations on: October 24, 2005 02:38:50 PM
This was my primary craft for the Halloween Season.
My friend's birthday is Halloween so he goes all out every year.  But this year was extra-special since it is his 30th.

These are the invites I made for his party. (I scanned them because I take terrible photos.)

After vellum is lifted:

He's obsessed with Nightmare Before Christmas, hence the Mayor image and the Tim Burton feel of the invites.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Going away gift for my best friend... on: June 15, 2005 09:45:47 AM
I've been reading through all of the other "going away gift" threads and they've definitely given me some great ideas.
So I'm wondering if all of your creative minds could help me narrow it down.

Basically the situation is this:
My best friend is moving to Australia (we live in NYC) with her new husband. Her sister made her a large scrapbook already.
So I was thinking I could make her an "Australia Survival Kit."
I think I'd also like to include a small scrapbook that would pertain solely to our friendship and contain things that would mean something only to her and I.

Any thoughts? What are some fun things I could put in the kit having to do with Australia?
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Invitations on: April 18, 2005 09:56:12 PM
I read this board obsessively but I've only actually posted a couple of times.  And I've never posted anything that I've made. Y'all are some very talented and creative people (it's intimidating.)

But I've finally gotten the guts up to post a few of the invites I've made in the past.

(forgive the photos, my camera sucks.)

These were postcards that I made for a friend's engagement party.

These were the invitations I did for my 5-yr anniversary party.
This is a style that's been done many times but I still think it's quite cute.
They also had "save the date" magnets to go with them.

These were the invitations I did for another friend's formal engagement party.
These had a bunch of inserts that coordinated with it but I couldn't get good pictures of them.
I alternated between blue envelopes/silver ribbon and silver envelopes/blue ribbon.

The same couple from above ended up deciding to get married in the Carribbean so these were the
Save-The-Dates that I made for them. (The colors most closely resemble the top-left pic.)

I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much by posting these...
