1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Zombie Swap take two? on: January 04, 2006 04:25:32 AM
Just watched Undead for the hundredth time and thought I'd check in to see if this swap was still gaining steam.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: 2005 Completed Costumes Scrapbook (completed projects with pictures go here) on: October 30, 2005 03:51:49 PM
All of these costumes are INCREDIBLE. I'm particularly in love with the Corpse Bride costume, the Cheetara costume and the mermaid costume (that wig is gorgeous!)
SO much talent here at Craftster...

Last night we went to a huge costume party/birthday party.

I was Goldie from Sin City.
I basically just painted myself in grey monochrome, added red lips and sewed myself into a red sheet.
But it was a Todd Oldham sheet from Target so I told everyone that technically it was couture.

My husband was a Baseball Fury from the Warriors.

He joined up with a couple of other people to be a whole crew from the Warriors.
Here he is with a Harlem Bopper and Cyrus.

One of my friends looked AMAZING as a zombie beauty pageant contestant.
I wish I had a really clear close up photo of her makeup because it was so wonderfully disgusting.
She had a gaping neck wound and scabby, bruised sores.
Here she is with Snow White and a Vampire.

All in all, it was a great time. Now I can just relax and hand out candy tomorrow.
3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Birthday Invitations on: October 24, 2005 02:38:50 PM
This was my primary craft for the Halloween Season.
My friend's birthday is Halloween so he goes all out every year.  But this year was extra-special since it is his 30th.

These are the invites I made for his party. (I scanned them because I take terrible photos.)

After vellum is lifted:

He's obsessed with Nightmare Before Christmas, hence the Mayor image and the Tim Burton feel of the invites.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Zombie Swap take two? on: October 15, 2005 01:25:59 AM
I really hope this happens too.
This would be my first swap and I have so many ideas for Zombie-related stuff.

Just wondering, is there a prerequisite number of people who need to be involved before a swap can happen (I read the swap guidelines and didn't see anything about it)?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Zombie Swap take two? on: October 11, 2005 12:07:47 PM
I would absolutely love to be a part of this swap.
I was so excited to see that someone had thought of Zombies as a swap topic!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Wedding UNtraditions? on: October 06, 2005 01:03:51 PM
I love non-traditional weddings. My husband and I wanted a Coney Island themed wedding, complete with burlesque dancers and freakshow performers but alas, due to money issues, we eloped. I guess there's always our 10 year anniversary.

Anyway, this may not be particularly helpful but it might give you some ideas.

Has some beautiful corsetry and their "can-can dancers" section illustrates some corset top/circle skirt ensembles that may be formal enough to get married in but casual enough to wear to a ballroom dance.

It was comfortable to wear but you couldn't walk in it.

However, the girl that made it also makes "walking tails," as well as tails you can actually swim in, which have diving fins sewn in.

I didn't wear this mermaid costume for Halloween (I bought it for a parade and then ended up getting hired to be a mermaid in a VIP tent at a concert/benefit, which is where the picture was taken) but it is by far my favorite costume ever.

It was made by the girl who runs Fox Moon Productions. She's the best.
9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: I love Lucy... on: August 25, 2005 08:37:31 PM
http://www.buycostumes.com has 2 Lucy costumes, a traditional one as well as the candy factory uniform.

If you're looking for something that you could possibly wear again you could try http://www.daddyos.com, http://www.mybabyjo.com and http://www.reddressshoppe.com.
They all sell 40's/50's replica dresses.
10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Halloween music? on: August 25, 2005 12:58:45 PM
Ha! bopalena, I keep thinking about this topic too.

Another good selection that's insanity focused which I don't think was mentioned:
Alice Cooper - From The Inside - the entire record.
If I remember correctly the whole premise of the album was supposed to be about a sanitarium.
