Here's a quick project i finished in a week for my flat pattern production in apparel design class, basically some embroidery, ruffles and some snap buttons (with normal buttons to cover the top ones), slightly more in depth description or pictures and whatnot are on my blog post or click on the pictures for my flickr photos and whatnot sorry for the low quality of pictures, got it on my camera phone which is pretty much 1.3 mpx :/ anywho, hope you enjoy the pics
Finished recently and sold 3 of them, oddly all art majors at college during the knitting and crocheting club sale before the finals week ended at ball state. one i gave to a friend for a present and still one left~! the pattern basically was a random edit as i go and such, but the basic layout is just 26(actual length)/27''(with .5inch seam allowance) and other calculations, i do have a sketch of the measurements and such or you can just basically get any other pattern and do it like this. added metal studs to the eyes, which makes it amazing and and embroidered the mouth and nose. also cut the fabric on the outside since i have a lining on the inside to show a nice blue color for the pawprint ear flaps. enjoy!
just a random phrase i picked out to start stitching awhile back, i just finished it last night(stuffed and sewn, suppose to be ...something stuffed with appendages) there is a dollar sign or what it is suppose to be and with wings on the tail of it, new to crossstiching and used a variegated crochet thread, which i normally use for my tatting, and the X's arnt all going the same way, but who cares , at the moment. the Es are clocks too using french knots for the 3,6,and 9. the back is very twisted somewhat, organized a little just a bit lumpy. hope you enjoy it. oh the small round white thing is just a random ball i did quickly to test the stitching of the machine, since i havnt touched it in awhile. it comes from a blog which i cant remember at this moment, but that blog had a tutorial on sewing 3D apples though, using sections or something or patchwork...whatnot.
lol i rarely wear what i make(just like my hoodie, which is found...somewhere, look where i posted on my topics or something), this was a friend who usualyl wears normal blue tripp pants at school and i asked him and pulled him out of class to do a photoshoot. i was captured on picture in a few pictures located on my flickr(search "harrison qiu" tag on there) i did get a haircut, but need to cut it shorter, so that is my "winter" hair, lol sounds like shedding season. anyways, going back to the topic, the simple answer is no, that is not me :p
edit: might as well give you a pic of me....-.- the girl is a friend from school who i asked to model my hoodie i also made
this used burda pattern 7733, which was pretty easy to understand at some parts, i added the straps which also is part of the belt loops, and sewn in a cross like thing which also with some additions of some D rings, you dont really see it but i added a golden leaf motif at the bottom of the hem of the pants. hope you enjoy the pictures.
McCalls 5252 finished because i was allowed to use it for my set in sleeve project. no it's not a dino hoodie, my original sketch had "teeth" in the sleeves like your hand is comming out of it or a tongue for your hand, but when i added the godet in it was too small, thus squishing the teeth when you wear it only. so i recycled it onto the hood. all the rest can be explained in my long description on the sketch i posted on deviantart. and here are my finished pics!
sorry for the large pics, usually i do thumbnails......usually. edit: a friend modeled, but she was too small so i had to roll the cuff in so it wont look "too" big.
A regular cake that i basically put what i felt was the best ratio amount into the bowl to mix
which i just put in an amount of: eggs(3) flour(about 2 ish cups) sugar(about 1 cup) orange zest at the top and a quarter of a orange slice worth of juice 1 1/2 cup milk(skim in my case) like a smigen of baking powder,
I guess you could have used self rising flour.
it tastes like chewy rice cakes, which i enjoy personally, but its still a baked, sweet item, so im good no matter what somewhat lol. buttered and floured pan with lined foil, baked at 350, after awhile it was still wet so left longer until dried out which took about 40 minutes maybe, but thats only because my oven kept disconnecting and cooling down and heating back up again....so in reality about 30 minutes is ok.
i am not 100% behind the exact measurements so just play with it, but the end result was pretty good. hope you enjoy the picture at least.
Here is some finished pictures tha ti finished in sewing class for a grade, it includes a lined fabric (black) and dark blue denium fabric for the outside, with cotton squares thiny in a nice blue pattern backed with fusable interfacing and then zigzag sewed(very messily on). so here they are(sorry for the iffyness when you click on it, havnt cleaned up anything, just flipped to the right angle and thats it).
I finished these by threading the wire with some seed beads i bought at the store and then manipulated the wire into interesting and squiggly shapes. i found a small styrofoam cup and stuck a sharp dowel rod into the center and plugged up the bottom of the cup, where the whole appeared and taped it shut and spun that in another cup (to catch the other beads that flew out), it was a very intersting method, except some of the beads were somewhat faulty and could not get some of them threaded through. Hope you enjoy looking.
Over the weekend i bought a set of replacement needle felting for the clover felting punching tool, it works fine(excepts gives off a iron-y/metal-y smell when you handle it). I finished a bird, wolf, bunny, a small flat eagle, and a flower with a nice swirly eye in the middle. unfortunally i am done taking pictures for now so the only pictures that i have are these, hope you enjoy them!
i really liked the wolf because of the nose and the muzzle area on the front. and the bunny used to be a blob, but then i refined it and made it better. the bird and rest of the pictures i either havnt taken a picture of or there is one, the first bird i did at a friend's house, is on flicker, unfortunally its blocked atm where i am...
