1  squiddy birthday card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Rio_Supreme on: April 09, 2013 12:33:19 PM
just a silly birthday card for someone with a love of cephalopods

inside it reads, 'Here's 10 squid for your birthday. Don't spend it all in one place!'
PS- for any international folks out there - slang for uk pounds is Quids, hence the Squids.

5  Twilight Rabbit Ride in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Rio_Supreme on: February 16, 2013 05:34:36 AM
this is a commission for a new babies room, they only gave me the info that they wanted it to have baby animals in it so I kinda went overboard on making it more than that! I hope the baby likes it.

The poem in gold around the edge is from Alice in Wonderland -

A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky
BY LEWIS CARROLL

A BOAT beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July —

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear —

Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream —
Lingering in the golden gleam —
Life, what is it but a dream?

6  mother's day/birthday card, 2 cards in 1! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Rio_Supreme on: June 26, 2010 08:08:13 PM

My Mum had the unfortunate sense of timing to be born the day before Mother's day  Sad which meant that in my more thoughtless youth she got 2 presents but only 1 card (*ashamed*)  Embarrassed. So I decided to surprise her this year with a 2 in 1 card.

and both cards out of their mini envelopes.

she liked them, so i may try to do a variation on this next year too.

ps I know I'm posting this 2 months late but my internet has only recently got itself together...

Sorry im late (again), i had to hunt down some slugs in my garden before i could finish it!

Hi Pinksparklystars, i only just got here too so just jump in at the deep end and grab the nearest flotation device!  Wink

Graverobbergirl- i love that Vindictive Vapour Vanquisher (patent pending) and i love the character herself, but she could use some pattern or darkness to her jacket to set her apart from her background. maybe some lovely old fabric pattern like this...

Anywhooo, heres my contributiony...

the text reads - The Slugs Shall Enherit the Earth. (and the cockroaches of course)

It looks better in person, the indian ink on top of the acrylic paint is too shiney to be papparazzied. It was quite funny actually, the slug that was modelling for me kept going after my ink bottles and nibbling on my fingers, little scamp!  Cheesy (and yes i do realise i misspelled enherit, but i was tired and a slug was trying to eat my finger.

heres my page for this week, i used the word rain.

i like the idea, but i think it looked better in my head  Undecided
One other thing, im a bit confused about the words pickd, i thought the theme for last week was rain/feelings but a lot of people used automatons, apples etc. Do you generally go freestyle for themes and go to the weekly theme if you're out of ideas?

9  care bear shadow boxy thing in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by Rio_Supreme on: August 18, 2008 05:17:40 PM
Its kindof a shadow box...i think. One thing kind of led to another and now im not sure what it is  Tongue

Anyway, one of my freinds nicknames is clairebear, so for her birthday i drew her this...

I didnt want to send it to her all nude and alone so i put it in this box

and used my dremel to shape the clouds

but im not posting it in the finished section because im a bit stuck on how to finish it, the lid looks all bare and i dont know what to do with it.

Any ideas would be great, as im kinda running out of time as her birthday was kinda yesterday... Embarrassed
