11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Another Egyptian style headpiece on: February 22, 2008 03:53:28 PM

This one was commissioned for a Halloween costume.  Thin copper wings with feathers chased in were soldered to a copper rod circlet with a silver horned disc.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Rhodochrosite earrings on: February 22, 2008 03:50:11 PM

These were a recent commission for a friend.  I'd done a pendant for her which unfortunately I didn't get a pic of.
I cut the slab in half and made the 2 pieces roughly the same shape, polished the edges and set them with sterling wire.  A matching bead and Bali silver spacers finished them off nicely.
13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Moldavite Pendulum on: February 22, 2008 03:45:58 PM
Another commission piece.  I'd cut the teardrop several years back when I was playing around with teaching myself lapidary work.  A customer saw it in my odds and ends box she had to have it.

I drilled the moldavite chip for the fob, and fabricated the collar from sterling wire.  A little chain, a bit of epoxy, and voila!
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Egyptian Headpiece on: February 22, 2008 03:40:34 PM
This is a commissioned piece I did a few years ago before silver prices went crazy.  I also re-purposed the box it is sitting on.

It is 24K gold plate over sterling silver fabrication and chasing.  The box is black silk velvet with a white silk satin interior.

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ArtClock #1 on: February 19, 2008 02:38:47 PM
I've been playing with clocks from Big Lots for the last year and giving them as gifts.  This was one of my favorites.
I have a friend who reads Tarot for a living, and I originally planned to use cards for the numbers, but then I had the idea for the planchette sweep hand and the Ouija clock was born!

The face and planchette were done in Photoshop, and the sweep hand was fabricated from clear plastic and glued to the stub of the original sweep.
