1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: DIY Anthropologie Ring Holder on: January 29, 2012 07:46:30 AM
Thanks! I lucked out finding the little birds. I was originally looking for small children's plastic toys for the center animal, but these ceramic birds turned out great!

I wasn't sure where this belonged, but I can consider this a trinket- right? Plus, it holds jewelry. I apologize if I put this in the wrong category!

Anywho- I fell in love with the Anthropologie ring dishes for $10 (which is actually affordable for Anthro!) But of course I wanted to make my own! See the real anthro dish here:

I found the plates and the little birds at the thrift store. With some high gloss white spray paint and glue, I made my own version!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Shrinky Dink Swinging Girl on: January 26, 2012 12:28:30 PM
Wow - thanks everyone. Warm fuzzies! Yes, this one was actually my second attempt because I made the holes way too small, they closed up when baked.

It seems a standard hold punch works best. I love shrinky dinks, let me know if anyone ever hears of other great projects!

Thanks! I seriously get so many compliments on this necklace when I'm wearing it. It is still holding up very well with the hot glue! Smiley

Oh my goodness, do not be intimidated by resin. It is so much fun! I got my resin from Rio Grande Jewelery, their product is so easy to use. Thanks for all the wonderful feedback!

Thanks everyone! They were fun to make - all out of black spray paint now. That's for sure!
